In my life, there is a lovely little member named Doujiang, a precious gift from a friend. When I first received Doujiang, it was so small and had a kind of ugly – cute look, which made me feel a strong sense of affection. At that time, it had little interest in cat food and ate very little, which really worried me for a while. However, as time passed, Doujiang’s appetite gradually improved, and it started its journey of thriving growth. Watching it grow up visibly made me extremely happy.
Doujiang especially likes to sleep on my lap. Its fluffy little body nestles on my lap, warm and cozy, making me feel an incomparable sense of intimacy and warmth. Every time I code, it always curiously approaches the computer, with its big, round eyes wide open, seemingly full of curiosity about my work. It’s like a little supervisor, quietly accompanying me through one busy night after another.
I still remember that after taking Doujiang for the first vaccination, it had side effects and became listless. As soon as we got home, it went straight into its nest. I quickly covered it with a quilt and turned on the electric blanket. Seeing it lie down comfortably, my heart finally settled. Doujiang is especially afraid of the cold. Now that the weather is cold, even though there is an electric blanket in its nest, it still has a special preference for the down jacket I put on the table and regards the down jacket as its exclusive little nest. No matter how warm and comfortable its own nest is, it is stubbornly determined to sleep on the down jacket. Its appearance is both willful and cute.
Doujiang has many other interesting habits. It really loves to drill into boxes. Once it spots a box, it will drill in without hesitation and then stick out its little head, looking around as if exploring a whole new world. Its cute appearance makes people laugh. I often tease it, “What are you looking at, little guy?” It also likes to look up very much. It always opens its super – big and cute eyes, looking at everything around it curiously. Its expression seems to be making a silent exclamation about the wonders of the world. Once, when I called its name, it looked up with a puzzled expression and responded to me, “Me?” That look really melted my heart.
Doujiang also enjoys the sunshine very much. The sun rarely comes out in our area. So, whenever the sun shines, I will move its nest to the balcony to let it enjoy the sunshine to its heart’s content. Lying on the balcony, it stretches its body comfortably. Only then did I realize that cats can really be “stretched”. Its lazy appearance makes people feel that time is passing quietly and beautifully.
Now, Doujiang has grown up a lot. It can easily jump onto my table now. Yesterday, I brought it to my bed. It lay on the blanket, extremely comfortable, enjoying this warmth and comfort to the fullest. Looking back on the days spent with Doujiang, what touched me the most was that it accompanied me while I was doing my homework until midnight. In the quiet night, it lay quietly beside me, silently accompanying me. At that moment, it was no longer just a pet but more like my most intimate partner.
Doujiang, this lovely little guy, has added countless joys and warmth to my life with its growth, companionship, and those interesting little actions. I believe that in the days to come, it will continue to accompany me and create more beautiful memories.
