Datou's Happy Transformation from Being a Stray to Having a Home

Datou’s Happy Transformation from Being a Stray to Having a Home

Looking back on the first time I saw Datou, the scene is still vividly etched in my memory. In the cold winter,he was shivering in the icy corridor. His emaciated body seemed as if it could be blown away by a gust of wind. There were scars all over his body, his fur was in a mess, his face was covered with eye discharge and tear stains, and there was a look of utter fear and helplessness in his eyes, just like a little creature forgotten by the world.

After I brought him home,I provided him with a warm environment and plenty of food. He gobbled up the cat food ravenously, and at that moment,I knew he must have been hungry for a long time outside. When I took him to the hospital for a physical examination, the doctor’s diagnosis made me feel both heartbroken and relieved. I was heartbroken that he had suffered so much, but relieved that although he was malnourished, had eye discharge problems, and mild gingivitis, there was no life-threatening danger. As long as he was carefully taken care of,he could recover his health.

In the following days,I started the journey of taking meticulous care of Datou. Every day,I would carefully clean his eye discharge. Those hard lumps of eye discharge were not easy to clean, but I never minded the trouble. When giving him medicine,Datou was so obedient that it saved me a lot of trouble. He would always cooperate with me obediently, allowing me to feed the medicine into his mouth smoothly. In order to ensure his balanced nutrition,I tried various methods. Although he had no interest in meat,I still persisted in providing him with a variety of food choices.

Gradually,Datou began to change. His face became rounder, his neck became thicker, and he was no longer the skinny cat he used to be. The eye discharge problem was also greatly improved. From having to clean it three times a day because it was still dirty, now it only needs to be cleaned once a day and can stay clean for half a day. His mental state became better and better, and he began to explore every corner of the house, showing the lively and active nature of a cat.

Now,Datou is living a happy life in my home. He has his own warm little nest, which is covered with a soft cushion; he has enough food and clean water and can eat to his heart’s content every day; and there is me,his owner, who will accompany him to play and give him love and care. He is no longer the stray cat suffering from hunger and cold outside, but has become one of the most important partners in my life. Datou’s happy transformation has made me deeply understand the significance of giving, and also made me cherish every moment spent with him even more. I will always be with him and witness more of his growth and happiness.
