The Story of My Cat Youyou

The Story of My Cat Youyou

Now that it’s grown up, it doesn’t like being hugged much. It will look at you with the eyes of looking at a fool and sigh.

It has become more beautiful, but can its temper also be a bit more pleasant?

The experience is that it’s extremely gentle. No matter how you knead it, it won’t scratch or bite.

You can touch and hug it at will.

I bought this cat from a pet store at the beginning of 2018. It was a “permanent resident” in the store. It was almost half a year old when I brought it home. At that time, the owner of the pet store often took it home to raise. It was very affectionate to people. It would actively rub against your hand when you stretched it out. The following picture is a photo of the first day I brought it home. It was fat and soft.

Maybe because it grew up with dogs in the pet store since it was a kitten, its meowing sound is a kind of sound between a meow and a howl. Sometimes when it’s excited, it will make a rapid howling sound like a dog.

At first, I named it Youyou (which sounds like “meat” in Chinese). Later, because of its leisurely and lazy temperament, my parents forcefully changed its name to Youyou. Anyway, it sleeps most of the time.

Now Youyou is a mature and steady cat. It’s not as clingy as when it was a kitten. But it will keep the owner within its sight. If it doesn’t see anyone for a while, it will look around the house. Probably it feels anxious when its “meal ticket” is not in sight.

It sleeps in its small room at night, and takes a nap on the swivel chair beside the bed with my parents during the day. It follows people everywhere, so you have to be especially careful not to pinch it when opening and closing the door.

British Shorthair Silver Shaded cats really shed a lot of hair. The sofas at home have to be covered. Even during the non-moulting period, I can sweep up a box of cat hair every day. I hope it won’t go bald at a young age.

I didn’t know much about British Shorthair Silver Shaded cats when I bought it, so I didn’t make a careful selection. Now its facial features are quite regular. I’m looking forward to it growing into a chubby beauty. However, Youyou is already one and a half years old, but it still weighs less than 6 jin. It’s not enthusiastic about eating. It hasn’t been spayed (there are no conditions for spaying female cats in the local area), and it hasn’t been in heat either. Its development is slow. Could it be that it will always be a “baby”…

Thank you all for liking Youyou. I’d like to share some cute cat emoticons. I just found out recently that it has a special talent in this regard.
