I came across a British Shorthair Blue and White—a little boy~ He was from the owner’s own cattery and was currently being kept at a pet store.
I originally wanted a male cat because British Shorthair males tend to develop chubby cheeks, with big heads and thick necks, which is super cute.
The next day, I couldn’t wait and went to see him near Chaoyang Joy City.
This was the first time I saw him~

After coming home with me, he was very well-behaved. Unlike other cats who hide on their first day, he curiously ran around and even tested out the litter box I prepared for him.
I had only mentioned to my mom once that I wanted a cat, and I sent her photos from the pet store, but I didn’t tell her I was bringing one home. So, I brought my boyfriend and best friend along to help me “shield” the situation~ Luckily, my parents didn’t say much and even seemed to like him a bit.

Since I had never owned a cat before, I was very cautious about everything.
I stayed up late reading cat care guides, and on the first night, the cat slept on my bed.
Waking up to see a cat next to me felt pretty magical—a tiny ball curled up on the blanket.
I have to say, British Shorthairs have great personalities. They retract their claws when interacting with you.
But since he’s still young, he doesn’t quite control his strength yet. If you get close to his toys while he’s playing, he might scratch you (and it hurts…).
September 21st is his birthday. A friend said my cat looks like Wang Junkai (a Chinese idol) hhhh, and this photo does resemble him a bit.

On New Year’s Day, I took him to get vaccinated. He meowed the whole way there.
I really suspect my cat got a fake vaccine because he wasn’t listless at all. When we got home, he went about his usual business, acting crazy as ever~~
Sometimes, his craziness really annoys me—knocking things over and playing with a piece of paper for hours.
But then I see people saying, “Cherish it while you can. Kittens are only like this until they’re about a year and a half old. After that, they become slow and just sleep all day, no longer playful.”

After getting a cat, expenses really add up. I’m the type who spoils my cat—buying the best cat food, stocking up on snacks, and even getting him a cat tree despite needing to save for home renovations~
I need to find a job soon, or I won’t be able to afford this little guy anymore!
