Lulu Miao arrived home on August 19th. She was already over five months old at the time—a sweet little cutie.
The pet store was one I had encountered at the Pazhou Pet Expo. I had been following them for almost a year, hesitating because I was worried I couldn’t take good care of a cat. But in the end, I couldn’t resist.
When buying the cat, I clearly told the owner that I wanted a cat that was well-behaved and affectionate. Originally, I planned to get a male kitten. After playing with a few little cuties, I found it hard to choose because I liked them all. Then the staff recommended the one I have now, saying her personality was excellent.
After comparing, I realized she was indeed very gentle. While playing with a cat teaser, the other kittens would claw at it fiercely, but she used her soft paw pads. Ah, I instantly decided she was the one.
Time to go home, yay!
This is what she looked like on the first day—timid yet curious about everything:

She even went to check out the bathroom:

She also cooperated well for photos, melting my heart:

On the first night, we went to sleep on the second floor, leaving Lulu Miao on the first floor to explore and get familiar with her new environment.
In the morning, I found that all the items on the lower level of the coffee table had fallen to the floor. She even managed to find the long-lost front door key—impressive!
Before going to work, I held her on the sofa and petted her for a while. She still looked a bit timid:

At first, I didn’t buy many toys for her, so a crumpled paper ball could keep her entertained for hours:

She was curious about everything in the house, exploring everywhere but not daring to go upstairs.
When she got tired, she fell asleep quickly—her little face and paws were so adorable:

To avoid losing track of her, I put a small bell on her:

Soon, Lulu Miao dared to go upstairs, expanding her territory:

Her first time going downstairs, she was very cautious:

However, after a few days, I noticed a noticeable tear stain under one of her eyes. Thinking it might be due to the cat food causing heatiness, I wiped it, but the next day the stain looked worse. Without experience, I searched online but couldn’t figure out what was wrong, so I took her to the vet.
At the vet, I learned that pet hospitals are similar to human hospitals—you need to register and create a medical record. Lulu Miao underwent a comprehensive eye examination, had her temperature taken, and even had blood drawn. Although she was nervous and kept hiding behind the computer, she behaved very well and bravely. She didn’t struggle during the blood draw, which was impressive but also heartbreaking.
The vet diagnosed her with conjunctivitis and prescribed three types of eye drops, to be administered six times a day. Additionally, the vet recommended testing for the three viruses covered by the FVRCP vaccine, as a responsible measure.
When I brought Lulu Miao home, she had already received two shots of the FVRCP vaccine and one rabies shot, so I thought everything was fine. But since we were at the vet, it was better to be safe.
The test results would be available the next day, so I took Lulu Miao home.
Administering the eye drops became a big challenge. She was very nervous, constantly moving and trying to escape. I couldn’t bear to hold her too tightly, fearing I might hurt her. After much effort, I managed to apply the drops to one eye, but she immediately ran under the bed in fear.
After a night of struggling to apply the drops, I noticed that the eye with the tear stain wasn’t opening as wide as the other. Worried, I contacted the vet, who assured me it was normal and advised me to observe her recovery the next day.
