Life with Miao Miao: A Mischievous Yet Adorable Furry Son Who Steals My Heart Every Day

It really feels like raising a son—a cute one who can drive me crazy at any moment. Since there’s a mosquito net on the bed, Miao Miao usually can’t get on it. Every morning, the first thing he does is cling to the net and meow at me. When I groggily get out of bed to clean his litter box, he circles around my legs, rubbing against me over and over. Once he’s had enough rubbing, if I try to pet him, forget it. The aloof Miao Miao lets out a meow and slips away.

Since raising him, working efficiently at home has become nearly impossible. He either walks across my laptop keyboard or clings to the power cord. Sitting beside me and acting cute is the least of his disruptions.

I’ve seen other people’s cats love to pose cutely under their owners’ cameras, but my little guy? The moment I get excited and try to become a professional photographer, all he provides me with are meme-worthy expressions.

This guy loves to sleep with his belly exposed. Normally, I don’t mind, but recently, Shenzhen suddenly got colder. Even wearing a sweater, I felt a bit chilly, so I worried his little belly might get cold, leading to stomach issues or a cold. I often cover him with a small blanket I prepared for him. Usually, he’s a light sleeper. When I cover him, he opens his eyes, looks at me, realizes it’s fine, and goes back to purring and sleeping. But when he wakes up and rolls over, wrapping his whole body in the blanket, I can’t help but hug and kiss him.

“Give me five!”

Raising him makes me so happy. Before having him, I thought I’d never kiss a cat, but he broke all the rules I set before getting him. Now, I can’t get enough of kissing him a hundred times a day. My life now revolves around work and him. Someone once said, a person may have many cats in their lifetime, but a cat only has one person in theirs. His arrival has made me feel much better mentally. I don’t know how long my body can accompany my little angel Miao Miao, but I hope that silly guy can stay with me until I’m a hundred or two hundred years old, hahahahaha!
