Let me introduce our little one. It’s a little male cat named Sansan, and he’s currently over four months old. I’ve always loved cats, but I was hesitant about whether I could be responsible for a little life. My boyfriend is the kind of person who takes action as soon as he has an idea. He silently made the decision for me and gave me a big surprise. Actually, I suspect he had his own selfish motives. Well, on the journey of raising the cat, the cat successfully stole my boyfriend’s affection from me. Humph!
On the day we brought him home, he was two months old. Looking up at the sky at a 45 – degree angle in the sun, he instantly made us believe that he was a little lady, and it also strengthened my determination to raise him in that way.
When we first brought him home, it was during my graduation season, and my rental situation wasn’t stable yet. In just over ten days, he was fostered at several friends’ places. During that time, he always had some minor problems. My boyfriend went to see him every day and took him to the pet hospital. After a few days of this hassle, we felt it was too much trouble for our friends and we were also sorry for Sansan. So, I quit my part – time job early. After getting the consent of my roommates (they actually welcomed him warmly), I asked my boyfriend to bring Sansan to our dormitory. In this way, Sansan could grow up in a relatively stable environment. (The boys’ dormitory is a bit messy and not very suitable for Sansan to live in.)

When he first came to the dormitory, I was really charmed by him every moment, and it’s still the same now. At first, since Sansan wasn’t very familiar with me, he wasn’t very affectionate towards me and carefully kept his distance while exploring the dormitory everywhere.
Gradually, the little guy realized that he was the master. He started to use me as a human pillow without any restraint and slept in various positions on my legs. (Covering my face, he’s really good at sleeping. He usually takes an afternoon nap.)
My roommates all dote on him extremely, which makes him act like a tyrant in the dormitory. But he’s a coward outside. As soon as he steps out of the dormitory door, or even crosses the floor line at the door, he immediately crawls on the ground and doesn’t dare to move. Usually, when I want to hug him in the dormitory, he’ll give me an arrogant paw. But at this time, when he sees you, he’ll just throw himself into your arms. He’s really a typical “tyrant at home and a coward outside”.
Occasionally, I take him out for a little while to build up his courage.
Now the little guy is over four months old. It’s already a bit of a struggle to hold him with one hand, but this meets my expectations for him. However, my initial wish has been dashed. He’s not a little lady at all; he’s a domineering cat.
Well, since I’m the one who chose to raise him, I have to keep raising him even if I’m in tears.
Warning: Many pictures ahead!
What’s it like to raise a British Shorthair blue – and – white cat? My feeling is that raising a cat, no matter what breed, will really bring you a lot of comfort. When you’re feeling sad, he’ll lie beside your feet, meow at you, and rub against you to comfort you. When you’re happy, he’ll purr and lie on your lap with his belly up, letting you stroke his tummy. Such companionship really touches your heart.
I think all I can do and give him is the companionship for the rest of his life. Just be my domineering cat for a lifetime. Next, you’re going to go to our new home with me. Let’s decorate it beautifully together. Sansan, mommy really loves you so much!
