The Life of Diandian: Growth, Moving and Care

The Life of Diandian: Growth, Moving and Care

Recorded on December 11, 2017:

I studied in the same province, while my boyfriend was from a neighboring province. During the holidays, we could flexibly arrange for Diandian to live with either of us. After we graduated, Diandian went home with my boyfriend. His uncle and aunt still drove hundreds of kilometers to pick it up specifically. This is also a big hassle of raising a pet. Diandian has a lot of things, such as a cat litter box, cat litter, cat food, and a special travel carrier, which are all necessities and take up a lot of space in luggage.

During the graduation season, there were also many abandoned pets in our school. Why? I think that besides the lack of responsibility of the pet owners themselves, there is also a practical reason. When studying away from home, if you want to transport your pet home, you need to go through troublesome consignment procedures. And eighty percent of the people still have a long way to go to get home after getting off the plane or train. We already find it troublesome just with vehicle transportation, not to mention the hardships of those who are far away from home to bring their pets back. We can understand this difficulty, but precisely because we know this situation, we appeal to everyone not to raise pets as much as possible during their studies away from home. Isn’t it better to wait until you have a stable job and accommodation and then raise an adorable pet that can accompany you?

Moreover, when raising a pet, some situations are inevitable. If the financial conditions do not allow it, it is also recommended not to raise a pet.

Long – distance relationships are very hard. Besides my occasional visits to my boyfriend’s place, he also comes to see me. At such times, Diandian has to be boarded at the pet hospital. It looks cute and well – behaved, and is quite popular. The doctors and assistant sisters all like it very much. And because it can eat cat food pouches, it lives quite happily. It pesters the sisters to stroke its chin every day. When they are about to get off work at night, it even stretches out its claws to hold them back.

Diandian has always been very warm – hearted. When my boyfriend comes home, it will run to the door to wait as soon as it hears the footsteps. Sometimes it’s really too sleepy and too lazy to go out and wait, but it will still sit up and squat in the cage to wait.

It likes to drink water from cups, likes to sunbathe, likes to watch pigeons, likes to sleep with its belly exposed, and is extremely clingy. Every time it comes back to the room after a stroll, it will meow softly to indicate that it’s back.
