7. Cat Comb: I recommend the shell comb. I once bought Furminator combs, silicone combs, and some unknown – brand combs. In the end, each one ended up in a different place, and only the shell comb remained in use. Cats also have a high acceptance of it. I don’t know if the knock – off versions are good or not. Some people say the knock – offs are also useful, but I won’t give my opinion on that.
8. Cat Scratching Post: Well, actually, kittens rarely play with it. Both of the cats in my family didn’t realize until they were 7 or 8 months old that, “Oh my, this cat scratching post can be played with!” Uh, I was quite helpless…
9. Cat Tree: The first British Shorthair cat in my family was very timid. When the cat tree was bought back, it was so scared that it would walk around it. So I never bought a cat tree again… I don’t really have the right to give my opinion on this.
10. Cat Toys: Laser pointers, cat teaser wands, and cat balls are usually prepared. Eventually, I found that my cats really love the toys that come as gifts when I buy other things, while they always turn their noses up at the ones I carefully selected. I’m so sad… Actually, cats love to play with paper balls the most. I don’t tell just anyone this.
11. Food Bowls and Water Bowls: I first bought a cat – stand – type food bowl and then replaced it with a shallow – mouthed bowl I bought myself. This way, when the long – haired cat eats meat, its fur is less likely to get dirty. Short – haired cats probably don’t have this concern. For the water bowl, I bought a Xiaomi Youpin Smart Pet Water Fountain. I really went all out to increase my cat’s motivation to drink water. When this water fountain was first bought, it pumped water quite vigorously.
But now, after half a year of use, it’s like a person with kidney deficiency. The water jet is getting smaller and smaller, and it’s almost impossible to see the water moving. So I had to remove the first layer and continue to use it. Another drawback is that the capacity of this water fountain is huge. If the water level doesn’t reach a certain amount, it will give an alarm and stop working. If you have only one cat, it can’t finish one – tenth of the water in a week. If you change the water every day, just think about the amount of water wasted. It’s astonishing.
12. Remember to buy a better – quality nail clipper. I just bought one casually from the supermarket and have been using it until now. I haven’t used any other ones, so I don’t have any specific recommendations.
