I have a cross – bred cat. Its mother is a British Shorthair and its father is a Chinese rural cat. Let me share my story.
He is really, really a super cute little guy named Meiqiu.
I brought him home when he was four months old. When I first brought him back, he had diarrhea. But during the four – hour car ride, he didn’t have an accident. As soon as he got home, he looked for the toilet everywhere (he knows how to use the toilet). He walked around the toilet in the new home several times but didn’t go (because there was no smell of his own). Later, I wiped his bottom with paper and put the paper in the toilet, and then he finally used it. Every time I take him back to my hometown for a one – or two – hour car ride, he has never pooped randomly.

On the day I brought him back, he was very quiet but he ate cat food and drank water. On the second night, he wanted to climb onto my bed. It was a very cold winter, and he tried three times. The third time, I was so angry that I pushed him down. He probably felt that I didn’t like it, and he never climbed onto my bed that night again. The next morning, when I was going to work and said goodbye to him, he was sleeping with his back to me in his little house – shaped cat bed (later I realized that he might be angry).
And then he started a hunger strike. I remember it started on Monday and ended on Sunday. He started vomiting on that day. When I took him to the doctor, they all said that he might not be used to the new home. Then I bought all kinds of toys and medicine, but he just wouldn’t eat. When I force – fed him water and cat food, he vomited soon after. At that time, seeing him could hardly walk steadily, I really cried. But all I could do was hug him. Until Saturday, I had already made an appointment with my friend to celebrate Christmas.
Although I was worried about him, I still went. I didn’t come back that night and didn’t get home until noon the next day. As soon as I opened the door, I saw him staggering towards me. Although I felt very sad, I was also very surprised. I immediately opened a bag of wet food for him to eat (when he didn’t eat, I was worried that dry food would be bad for his stomach, so I bought wet food). And then he actually ate it, and everything became normal!!! Is he some kind of “genius cat”? Did he think the new owner didn’t treat him well and want to end his own life???
Oh, by the way, when he first came, he would wake me up at around 7 o’clock. If I didn’t get up, I might have been impatient with him. And then he never woke me up at 7 o’clock again.
