When I first brought her back, I could feel that she was extremely happy. She purred for several days! Even when sleeping at night, she would lie beside my ear and purr. So, on the first night Tommy came home, I was kept awake all night by her noise!
For the first three days, she was quite reserved. Basically, she didn’t go out much. Whatever I did, she would sit aside and watch from a distance. At that time, I was thinking, “Oh, did I meet a quiet and ladylike cat?” I was so excited that I told my partner that my cat was going to be a “fashion – conscious lady” among cats!
But! It turned out that I was too young and naive!!!
After three days, her true nature was revealed. It seemed that in my small one – bedroom apartment, she could do anything, running around wildly…
She’s crazy every day, running around the house, jumping up and down. She follows me wherever I go. When I go to the toilet, she squats at the door and stares at me… Recently, she’s become obsessed with my hair. She jumps onto my shoulder and scratches me at any time.

Moreover, she’s a real glutton now. In the first few days she came, when I was eating, she would sit beside me obediently and observe me secretly. Now, well, she almost sticks her head into my mouth. Whenever I eat anything, she has to smell it.
I heard that cats don’t eat spicy and very sour food. However, my Tommy has no such boundaries! When I eat hot and sour noodles, she comes to smell them. I, being a bit mischievous, let her smell, and she actually stuck out her tongue to lick?! I was so scared that I quickly picked her up and carried her away! Now I can’t even have a meal in peace… I think in a few months, I’ll be able to thank Tommy for her great contribution to my weight – loss career!
However, Tommy is still very clingy. If she were as indifferent to me as some other cats, my poor heart might not be able to take it.
Tommy loves to act coquettishly. She likes to run onto my shoulder, belly, and chest to sleep. She likes to rub her head against my face and often shows her belly, asking to be petted. Before, when I was petting her, she would bite my hand to play. I learned from the experiences of others. Every time she bit me, I would scream (I’m sorry to the old man next door who hears my screams every day). Now she basically doesn’t scratch or bite me with her teeth. I’m really relieved!
All in all, I have a British Shorthair cat. Sometimes she seems very “long” (active), sometimes very “short” (lazy), sometimes very silly, sometimes very “tough – looking”, sometimes she’s affectionate, sometimes rebellious, sometimes quiet, and sometimes crazy. Such a changeable cat really makes me, her “old mother”, worry a lot. I even had the idea of “returning” her!
But every time she gently puts her little paw on my hand, I’m so charmed that I wish I could hold her up like in “The Lion King” and show her cuteness to the whole world.
