My Experience of Raising an Adorable British Shorthair Blue Cat

I’m currently experiencing what it’s like to raise a British Shorthair blue cat.

In June, my attempt to raise a dog failed. My good friend is extremely fond of cats and constantly urged me to accompany her to the cat cafe. Emm, specifically, before officially bringing him home, I saw him three times. Among the three little kittens, he was the most endearing and naive – looking, so at first, I simply called him “Hanhan”. At that time, I happened to have sufficient funds, and I felt a strong connection with him. After much hesitation and inner struggle, I finally brought him home.

I officially brought him home on July 1st. He was so tiny that I was constantly worried about accidentally crushing him. He seemed so delicate. And my phone was filled with his pictures.

I used to be very lazy. But after getting him, I have to wipe his face, clean his ears, feed him, and change his water at fixed times every day. After he plays around all day, I also have to clean up the mess and scoop the cat litter. To be honest, it’s really a bit smelly.

A few days after bringing him back, I officially renamed him “Haha”.

I don’t know why, but he never meows at home…

His appearance varies, sometimes looking extremely cute, and sometimes not so much.

I probably raise him as if he were a girl. Everything for him is pink.

About a week after bringing him home, I took him to get the second – dose vaccine. I discovered that he has a problem. As soon as he goes out, his eyes well up with tears and he meows loudly. It really tugs at my heartstrings.

Before, I always thought he couldn’t meow.

In the second week after arriving home, he started to jump onto the bed. Around the third week, he could jump onto my dressing table. He managed to make two of my eyebrow pencils and a bunch of other things disappear, and he also chewed up my earphones and data cable….

I have a habit of putting a glass of water on the bedside table to drink when I wake up in the morning. However, he always steals a drink. After being caught in the act several times and getting hit a few times, he stopped.

My friend occasionally comes to my house to see him and play with him. He doesn’t like to be held by others all the time. He’s very stubborn. When my friend hits him, he acts as if he’s crying…

In the third week, I took him to get the third – dose vaccine and also gave him internal deworming medicine. Because he was so stubborn, several people had to hold him down, and he scratched a big bloody gash on someone’s hand. I felt really embarrassed.

In the fourth week, I went out, and my family drove back and brought him along. Then he started a “drifting” life with me.

By the way, around the third week, I noticed that there was a small area above his anus and on his right paw in the picture above that had a bit of ringworm. The hair in those areas was gone, but it didn’t spread, so I didn’t take any measures. When I checked today, it’s still there.

Haha, this little guy, doesn’t want to sleep with me, but he will lie around me for a while before going to sleep. Sometimes he will hold my hand.

He’s becoming warmer and warmer.

At the same time, he’s also eating more and more. Last week, I weighed him, and he was over three pounds. He wants to eat meat every day. A few days ago, I observed his feces and found something wrong. I quickly gave him Mommy’s Love (a probiotic). I was going to stop feeding him, but I just couldn’t bear it. As a result, even though he had diarrhea, his appetite was still good…. He still wanted to eat meat. There was no way, so I gave him some. The next day, his feces were even looser, so I had to stop feeding him. But then he kept meowing in front of me, so I resumed feeding him.
