Whether a cat is affectionate towards people depends on its personality. In my family, one of my fur – babies is very close to me, while the other one can only be held for a short while when I force it. So, I’ve really encountered typical cases!
The older cat loves to sleep. From childhood to adulthood, it has always been a sweet and warm “baby”. The younger cat runs around the house every day. I guess it’s still young and full of energy.
Sometimes in the morning, when I can’t get up, the two cats climb onto the bed and fight on me. My goodness! Two cats that weigh over ten jin combined are “dancing” on my chest. I wake up immediately!
In fact, when people often say that a certain breed of cat is lively or a certain breed is aloof, they are just talking about general feelings. But actually, cats’ personalities vary greatly. For example, Siamese cats are like dogs, American Shorthairs are full of energy, and Ragdolls are like angels. However, I’ve also seen American Shorthairs that don’t like to move, and Ragdolls that are not “angel – like” at all. Even a cat’s personality can change as it grows from a kitten to an adult. Cats are different from dogs. They are not as affectionate towards people, or even we can say they don’t “need” humans as much. That’s why we call ourselves “cat slaves”!

So, there’s actually no need to worry about the cat’s breed and whether it’s affectionate. The longer you raise a cat, the deeper the bond will be.
Looking at your question, you suspect that there might be a relationship between a cat’s lack of affection and changing owners. I saw an answer before about whether a cat can still be happy after changing owners. I think it makes a lot of sense. You can take a look.
In addition, you mentioned that the cat likes to bite. I think when a kitten bites, we need to distinguish whether it’s a real bite or just playing around. Most of the time, it’s playing with you, and it basically doesn’t hurt. After biting, it even licks you.
I don’t advocate hitting a cat. Unlike dogs, hitting a cat will only make it scared and want to run away, and it may develop more serious rebellious emotions. Usually, when my older cat makes a mistake, I make it stay there and give it a verbal lesson. I let it go when it realizes its mistake.
This is a picture of it being scolded by me for making a mistake. It squats behind the door with a wronged look on its face.
After the education, it’s all good. It’s still a good – natured baby!
If a cat is very naughty, it means it doesn’t have enough exercise. Usually, spend more time playing games with it. Personally, I quite like more active cats. My older cat is over one year old, and it just eats and sleeps all day. A cat – teaser can’t even attract it. It seems to have become a dull and cute “uncle”, with no energy at all, except when it fights with the younger cat. It’s full of energy then!
Petting a cat is so enjoyable. Petting a cat all the time is even more enjoyable!
