The Transformation of My Once - Aloof Blue Cat into a Clingy One

The Transformation of My Once – Aloof Blue Cat into a Clingy One

I’m relieved to see that most blue cats are not affectionate. I thought my cat was a special case.

My female cat has a good temper. She’s lazy, quiet, and her meow is very special, as if only half of the sound can come out. She doesn’t make trouble and is very quiet. She’s almost perfect. The only drawback is that she doesn’t let herself be hugged.

As a cat owner, who doesn’t want to hold their little baby? But whenever I can’t help but hold her in my arms, she’ll scratch me badly and run away at the first opportunity.

She just had her first – birthday.

She was 5 months old when she first came.

I’m in Beijing where the air is dry. Her fur always feels different from those of blue cats in pet stores. It’s extremely soft, and she sheds an amazing amount of hair, which leads to serious static electricity. Crackling… This might be an important reason why she doesn’t like to be touched. The orange cat at home doesn’t have such strong static electricity.

Last night, my husband tried to hold her, but she scratched his shoulder until it bled. He was really angry. Alas… And we also have a second cat with a good temper. It allows us to hold it and sleep with us, which makes up for a bit of the regret.

A few days ago, when I visited a pet store, there was a blue – and – white cat. Poor thing, its four paws, ears, face, and body were all covered with ringworm, but it was super cute. As soon as I held it, it started purring. It was so affectionate. I liked it so much. If I weren’t poor, I would have taken it home.

When I was in my hometown without a cat, I was really anxious. Since the kids hadn’t started school yet and I didn’t want to go back to Beijing, a relative sent a little orange cat. Then my “cat – having life” started again. This one is also very affectionate. As soon as I hold it, it purrs. It has an extremely good temper. Sometimes it’s naughty. Even after I scold it, when I touch it, it still purrs. What a carefree little cutie.

Whether a cat is affectionate or not is still related to its own personality.

Hahaha, come to update————————

Today, when the cat took the initiative to lie on me, I suddenly thought of this previous answer and decided to update it.

I came back in June, and now it’s November. Just in these two weeks, my big “daughter” suddenly became clingy… First, last week when I was playing with my phone, she started lying beside me waiting for me. Then she suddenly lay on my head. It was so warm and comfortable… I quickly took a photo to remember this moment.

Humph, mom is playing with her phone again and ignoring me.

Come on, come and pet me.

So boring.

Come on, I’ll also see what you’re looking at.

Forget it, I can’t understand. I’d better go to sleep.

Now, as soon as I pat my leg, she comes up by herself. She’s so obedient.

Sleeping lying down.

Sleeping sitting up.

The only fly in the ointment is that she always turns her butt towards my face. Some people say that if you lick it, you can become good friends. So, should I lick it or not?

Why is she getting more and more clingy? Maybe I carried out desensitization therapy in the middle.

Maybe because the original owner was busy and didn’t have much time to hold her. Maybe every time she was held, it was for things like taking medicine. So, she didn’t feel safe in people’s arms and always wanted to run away. She would be highly nervous as soon as she was in someone’s arms.

In contrast, the second cat got sick as soon as it came home and was extremely cute. Almost every time I was at home, it was in my arms. So, when it grew up, it didn’t resist being held. In fact, the first cat looked jealous when she saw me holding the second cat. It had little expressions like this.

Then I held her more often. Even if she was reluctant, I still held her, stroked her slowly, and gently told her that mom loves you, baby. At first, she would run away in ten seconds. Later, she could stay for half a minute. Then she could stand on my shoulder. Now, as soon as I lie down, she comes over by herself and finds a comfortable place… And since we got a Ragdoll, I suddenly feel that the hair – shedding amount of the British Shorthair is really just average, hahahaha.

From then on, I got a clingy baby. It’s what I’ve always dreamed of. It took more than a year for her to become clingy. Now, she has become the most clingy among the four cats. So happy.
