After arriving home, as expected, it hid. In my room, there were spaces under the bed and the sofa. I was mentally prepared for it to hide, but it was so timid that it kept hiding. I even suspected several times, just like my friend did, that the cat was lost.
Later, I finally managed to make it feel a bit safe, but I still couldn’t get close to it. However, I could watch it explore around. While the little tabby cat at my friend’s house could already be petted casually. About two weeks after it came, on the Friday of the third week, I was sitting on a small stool, and it was relatively close to me. I tentatively reached out my hand, and it didn’t run away. This was the first time I touched it. I was so excited. After more than half a month of cleaning the litter box and feeding it, my efforts finally paid off. It recognized me as a safe person.
After that, I took it step by step, gradually. I bought cans and nutritional paste for it, providing it with good food and drink. I thought we could live happily ever after, but…

(After getting familiar with the surroundings, it relaxed a lot, but it still wasn’t the kind that would come to me immediately when called)
One night, I noticed that there was something wrong with its ear. When I took it to the hospital, it turned out to have ringworm. This little cat really has a tough life. It had just escaped from cat plague not long ago, and now ringworm came knocking on the door. So, it was time to put on an Elizabethan collar and apply medicine. (After being diagnosed at the hospital, I bought an Elizabethan collar at the pet hospital. It cost me more than 100 yuan. I was so angry. I can buy two nice – looking ones online for only about 20 yuan)
Later, it shed a lot of hair, and the first – bought collar got very dirty, so I bought two new Elizabethan collars. During this period, it broke free several times. I was so mad. I was afraid that it would spread the ringworm to other places. After it broke free, I had to coax and trick it to come over, then grab its “vital point” and put the collar on. At this time, our relationship was that I could pet it, but the little blue cat wasn’t proactive. By the way, my little blue cat is called Xiaoyi because it came to my home in November. Later, there were the “Lion – limited Edition Xiaoyi” and “Frog – limited Edition Xiaoyi” (referring to the funny looks when wearing different – shaped Elizabethan collars).
(Preparing to apply medicine)
Since the original hospital ripped me off, I directly changed to another place to get it vaccinated. The combined vaccine (feline distemper – hepatitis – parvovirus) and rabies vaccine happened to be half – price, costing only about 260 yuan. When I took it to get vaccinated, the doctor saw that Xiaoyi was wearing a collar and asked if it had ringworm. I said yes. Then the doctor checked and said it was okay and I could take off the collar. Then the little guy finally regained real freedom. (The previous doctor said that ringworm could be transmitted to humans, so it was mostly kept in the cage. Finally, I could let it out)
During the time it was locked in the cage, the first thing I did after work was to pet it and feed it nutritional paste. During that period, our relationship became much closer. When I went to the cage, it would come over and rub its head against my hand, asking me to pet it.
Later, Xiaoyi grew up day by day and got fatter. Looking at the previous photos now, it has indeed grown bigger and is heavier than before.
