A Comparison of the Personalities and Habits of My Ragdoll and British Shorthair Blue – and – White Cats

Coincidentally, we have a Ragdoll and a British Shorthair Blue – and – White in our family.

The Ragdoll is a bit older and is the “big brother”, while the British Shorthair is a little younger. Their personalities are completely opposite, so it’s hard to say which one is better.

In terms of hair – shedding, neither of them sheds less than the other. Since the Ragdoll has long hair, its hair is softer and lighter, so it seems to be floating in the air often. Especially when they fight, the hair bitten off and left all over the ground is definitely the Ragdoll’s. But if you groom them, you’ll find that the British Shorthair may shed even more. Its hair is short and dense, and it floats on the surface. With just one stroke, your hand will be full of hair. It sticks to everything you touch, and because the hair is so fine, it’s often unnoticed.

In terms of eating, the British Shorthair clearly eats much less than the Ragdoll. You can tell from their body sizes. Every morning, as soon as I open the door, the Ragdoll will definitely be the first to rush in and circle around me until I open and place the cat cans. But the British Shorthair is very calm. It usually won’t show up until I’ve finished everything.

In terms of intelligence, the Ragdoll is definitely a bit of a “dumb – cute” one. People always say that Ragdolls trade their intelligence for their looks. Anyway, the one in my family is really quite silly and cute. It often doesn’t bury its poop. Sometimes, when snacks are placed in front of it, it doesn’t even react before the British Shorthair has eaten them. It has a huge body but is extremely timid. With the slightest loud noise, it will immediately hide. As soon as I turn on the vacuum cleaner, it runs away. On the contrary, our British Shorthair really likes it when I vacuum. As soon as I start vacuuming, it shows up and lets me use the vacuum cleaner to suck the hair off it. Our British Shorthair is especially smart, which forms a sharp contrast with the Ragdoll. When we first moved to a new home, the British Shorthair slipped out, but it found its way back home in the middle
