It’s a mix of an American Shorthair and a Blue Cat. Its color is not very deep, a bit champagne – colored, and you can see the bullseye pattern of an American Shorthair on its body. I picked the biggest one in its litter, thinking that a bigger cat would be healthier…
When it first came, it was two months old and so small. The cat bed looked huge in comparison. It was timid and wouldn’t get angry no matter how you handled it. Its eyes weren’t even fully opened. Doesn’t it look so pitiful?
It turns out that this cat bed that cost me nearly one hundred yuan is less popular than a delivery box. You really don’t need to buy a cat bed when raising a cat.
Let’s look at the photos when it was three months old.
Its paw got stuck on the bed sheet and it was so anxious that it kept meowing. I took a photo before rescuing it. Hahaha.
It grew extremely fast and could no longer be held in one hand. Its eyes were round. I think three months old was its peak in terms of appearance.
It would only stick to me when there was delicious food. Usually, it was very naughty, running around the room.
At about five months old, it started to lose its baby teeth and became a “toothless old man”. Look at its chubby little paws.

It’s six months old now. It has grown new teeth and likes to chew on my feet. Its taste is quite unique, but it doesn’t dare to use much force. It’s so timid. As the saying goes, a cat changes a lot as it grows. It’s getting uglier. And why is its eyebrow a bit bald? When I took it to get vaccinated, I asked the doctor by the way. The doctor said it wasn’t sick, that it was just scratching itself. I’m really speechless. It can scratch itself to look like a “bald – eyebrow Taoist”.
If you find a good angle, it still looks cute when taking pictures. You can’t hold it with one hand at all. As it grows up, it becomes more clingy, especially in the morning right after I wake up. It follows me everywhere, rubbing against my feet and showing its belly to get attention. When I’m still sleepy, I’m very likely to step on it. When I pick it up and pet it, it starts purring.
During the day, it’s quiet and doesn’t like to meow. At night when I’m sleeping, it “does parkour” in the living room. It basically doesn’t come to the bedroom to disturb my sleep. Sometimes, I can just be woken up by the sound of bottles and jars being knocked over.
Its personality is really good, and it’s really good at “flirting”. When it’s not happy, it sticks out its tongue and looks so pitiful that my heart melts.
I hope our Maomao is always healthy and never gets sick.

It’s almost one year old, but its tail rotted. Look at how it’s wrapped in gauze.
First, I spent more than two thousand yuan on a surgery and had it neutered at the same time. It got better for a while, but then it deteriorated again. I changed to another hospital. The doctor said it was “mawei disease” (phonetic). It can only eat cat food and has to cut off all chicken breast, chicken liver, eggs, and yogurt. I spent more than one thousand yuan on cleaning the wound. Currently, it’s getting better. It has been wearing an Elizabethan collar for over a month, and it seems to have become much more “mature”. The doctor said that if it deteriorates again, the only option is to amputate the tail. I hope Maomao gets better soon.
