The First Few Days with My Newly – Adopted British Shorthair Blue Cat, October

On October 6, 2019, that is, yesterday, I bought a two – month – old British Shorthair blue cat. After bringing it home, it hid under the table and wouldn’t come out, meowing constantly. I tried to tempt it with toys and canned food, but it just wouldn’t budge.

At around six o’clock in the evening, I went out for dinner. When I came back home, I gently opened the door and found it lying on my tatami. I walked over quietly, but it ran away again and hid behind the curtain. So I just sat on the tatami and started playing games. Although I was playing games, I actually kept an eye on the little cat out of the corner of my eye. After a while, it came over on its own initiative. I wanted to reach out and stroke it, but it scratched several blood marks on my hand with its claws and then ran away in a flash.

I was extremely anxious and sent a WeChat message to the cattery owner. She said that the little cat was shy and would be fine once it got used to the new environment. Then, at around eleven o’clock last night, I turned off the lights and was about to go to sleep. I put the cat food, water, and litter box very close to the little cat. After I turned off the lights, I secretly observed it. Unexpectedly, it ate a few mouthfuls of cat food and even used the litter box. Hehe, it was finally hungry, I thought to myself.

At around six o’clock this morning, I heard a purring sound. I looked up and saw that it was right beside my pillow, washing its face. First, it licked its cat paw with its tongue and then stroked its cheek. It was so cute. I pretended not to notice and secretly peeked at it. When I got up to get dressed, it got scared and ran away again.

Today, I have to play with it well to let it adapt to the new home as soon as possible.

I didn’t know what to name it, so I simply called it October because I brought it back in October.

This is a secretly – taken photo from yesterday afternoon. It was afraid of me and kept hiding.

On October 8, today the vacation is over. When I went out in the morning, October kept meowing. I secretly stayed at the door for a while and quietly left when its meowing subsided. At work today, I was worried about the cat all day. When having lunch, I was thinking, has it eaten? Is there enough cat food? Is it used to the litter in the litter box? In the afternoon, I was also in a daze. Near the end of work, I quickly packed my things and waited for the time to leave. Now I have someone (the cat) to care about. Hahaha.
