The Eventful Life of My Cat Xiaosi: From Adoption to Health Concerns and Growth

The Eventful Life of My Cat Xiaosi: From Adoption to Health Concerns and Growth

Xiaosi… pooped on my parents’ bed…

I could feel my mom’s anger even through the screen. Wuwu

Fortunately, it only pooped twice. Otherwise, my mom would really have given it away. Www

Later, I finally had a vacation and went home!! I finally saw the real Xiaosi!! So happy!!

(Of course, the job of cleaning the litter box and such became mine. Alas!)

I took a lot of photos of Xiaosi!

It just likes to lie in the pothos. What can I do!

Observing secretly

Big, round eyes

A gentle – looking cat

Moved to a new home. So happy!

Waking me up early in the morning. So annoying…

I was lying on the bed playing with my phone when suddenly my chest felt heavy.

At first, we didn’t take it seriously and thought it was just an ordinary cold. But later, the symptoms lasted for a long time, and we couldn’t sit still. We took it to the hospital. After the examination, it turned out to be feline rhinotracheitis. The doctor said that once a cat gets this disease, it will carry the virus for life. Alas, poor little thing… (By the way, seeing a doctor for a cat is so expensive. The examination and medicine cost a total of six or seven hundred yuan…)

There were probably three kinds of medicine, one for clearing heat and detoxifying, one for fighting viruses, and one lysine – based nutritional medicine. I originally thought that I could quickly feed it the medicine to cure it and let it recover soon. Little did I know that this was the beginning of a nightmare for both me and Xiaosi… Feeding medicine to a cat is really too difficult!!

Tablets are okay, but liquid medicine is really hard to feed. When using a syringe to feed the medicine, almost half of it spills out each time. Then, while I’m feeding, Xiaosi runs away, usually hiding under the bed and not coming out even after I coax it for a long time.

Just like this.

After a week of feeding the medicine, the effect was just so – so. It exhausted both of us. It was painful for it, and it was also painful for me. Later, I bought Boleideli on Taobao to drip into its eyes and nostrils. Hey, it’s really effective, but it’s a bit expensive. It’s more than eighty yuan for a small bottle. It has to be used up within half a month after opening and should be refrigerated usually. (During this week of feeding it medicine, our relationship was almost at a freezing point. As soon as it saw me, it would run away whining. So sad. But anyway, in the end, it recovered. As long as the result is good.)

Now it doesn’t cough anymore. It occasionally wheezes a couple of times like asthma, maybe it’s a sequela of feline rhinotracheitis. It may sneeze once every three or four days. Anyway, everything is back to normal. As an old “cat – mom”, I can finally feel relieved. So gratifying~

Looking a bit silly

It’s really super clean! It’s nothing like me, the sister who doesn’t even wash her face during the vacation!

After going through January like this, Xiaosi actually started wetting the bed again… Alas, it’s already a half – year – old cat and started to be in heat. So… the shame – collar is arranged!

Hahahahaha, this roll of the eyes is so funny. Xswl

Quiet as a chicken

Xiaosi is watching you!

At first, the Elizabethan collar I bought for it in the hospital was hard. I was afraid it would be uncomfortable, and it was also inconvenient to eat and drink with a hard collar. So I bought it a soft – collar. But as soon as it struggled, it managed to get out of it… So annoying… Clearly, the soft – collar is both comfortable and nice – looking. Stupid cat!

After being sterilized, Xiaosi can really eat a lot!! (And it poops more too.) It has visibly gained a lot of weight and has completely become a middle – aged greasy “uncle cat”. It’s no longer that cute little cat. Wuwu

What makes me glad is that so far, Xiaosi still has a small V – shaped face, just with a bit more flesh on its body. This makes our family of three, who all have round faces, very satisfied.

Dear Xiaosi, welcome to our home! I hope you can always be healthy and safe, and always be a carefree little cat!

Sister loves you!

Finally, let’s put a group photo!

Xiaosi, you have such a bad sense of the camera…
