I decided to raise a blue cat because I heard that they are lazy and quite friendly to novice cat – owners. Coincidentally, a pet store owner I knew on WeChat Moments was selling a female blue cat, so I bought one.
When I first brought her home, she was a little over two months old.
Picture 1 is the photo the pet store owner posted on WeChat Moments to sell the cat. When I saw it, my heart almost melted.
Then I immediately paid the money. After all the things I bought for her arrived, I went to the pet store to pick her up.
When I brought her back, she was sneezing a little. But I didn’t know much about it at that time. After one night, her gum in the eyes and snot were extremely serious.
I was really scared at that time. Then I asked the pet store. They told me it was just a minor problem and I could buy some eye drops, the cheap kind for human use.

I was skeptical. Besides, I had just graduated and didn’t have much savings. Most of my money was spent on buying the cat and her daily necessities for food, drink, and daily life. I searched for all kinds of novice cat – raising knowledge on the available apps and realized that it should be feline rhinotracheitis. Then I bought medicine according to their recommendations and gave the cat medicine and eye drops every day.
The next day, the cat’s snot was much less, and the gum in her eyes also decreased. So I reduced the dosage a little.
I wrapped her in a small blanket to drip eye drops. Hahaha.
Finally, her eyes got much better. But then I found that she had a lot of ear mites, and there was even a little hair loss around her ears.
At first, I thought I’d leave it alone and deal with it when I took her to take a bath later. Because when I bought her, the pet store owner said she had been dewormed and had one shot of vaccine. So I wanted to wait until she had all the vaccines and was a bit older with better immunity before taking her to take a bath. But I just couldn’t stand it anymore, so I bought cat ear – cleaning liquid and cleaned her ears bit by bit by myself. It took more than a week because one of her ears had a lot of ear mites and was a bit sensitive, so she didn’t let me clean it easily.
Not long after I brought her back, she became very affectionate to people. We didn’t plan to keep her in a cage, so we let her move around freely at home. Our rented place is about 30 square meters and has a bay window. But she couldn’t jump up to it before, so we would keep the window open. However, when no one was at home, we would close it tightly for fear that one day she could jump up.
