The Story of My Cats: From the Decision about Boniu to the Growth of Xiaolaizi and Chunhua

The Story of My Cats: From the Decision about Boniu to the Growth of Xiaolaizi and Chunhua

An update: In the end, I didn’t adopt Boniu. As the little kittens grew up, we found that Boniu was a Scottish Fold. There were six kittens in the litter, and two of them were Scottish Folds. I asked my friend, and my friend said that the father cat might have a bit of the Scottish Fold gene (not very obvious, so we didn’t know when they mated). Well, it’s hard to describe how I felt. On the one hand, I was worried that Scottish Folds have a high probability of genetic diseases. On the other hand, I was really reluctant to give up. After much thought, I finally chose another little kitten.

The reason I decided not to adopt Boniu was that a friend of mine in Hangzhou has a three – year – old Scottish Fold. Since the end of last year, it has been limping when walking. When taken to the hospital for examination, it was diagnosed with genetic chondropathy and needs to take medicine for life. Last month, when I visited my friend, I saw that the cat was very listless and couldn’t even walk steadily. It was really heart – wrenching. I thought that if Boniu got sick in the future, she would definitely suffer a lot. I didn’t have the confidence to take good care of her, and I was also afraid of being heartbroken. Finally, my colleague decided to adopt Boniu. I hope she can always be healthy.

In the end, I picked a kitten that no one else wanted. She was very thin and small, with a gray patch on the top of her head, and she wasn’t as “pretty” as the others. But I thought she was very smart and always full of energy. She was the first to challenge climbing the ladder, the first to drink milk powder on her own initiative, and also the first to learn to use the litter box. It’s amazing that Chunhua, with such a bad temper, is actually willing to stay with her.

I gave her a new name, “Xiaolaizi”. I hope she can grow up happily and accompany Chunhua.

For those who said my hands were nice, here’s a bonus photo.

An update on the photos of Xiaolaizi and Chunhua. At the beginning of this month, I took them both to get vaccinated. Chunhua gets vaccinated once a year, one booster shot and one rabies shot. Xiaolaizi got the first shot of the feline triple vaccine. When the doctor took Chunhua out of the bag, he underestimated her weight and couldn’t lift her the first time. Hahaha. After the injection, Chunhua immediately got into the bag and became a “turtle with its head retracted”. Xiaolaizi is very brave and didn’t want to get into the bag. She kept walking around on the doctor’s desk. When we first went out, Xiaolaizi looked around curiously.

The same pose, Chunhua’s flesh is all spread out…. Indeed, cats are made of water….

They eat, sleep, play, and then sleep again every day. These two have had the most comfortable summer.

Xiaolaizi especially likes to watch TV. Whenever I watch a drama, she has to come over and watch with me, and then she falls asleep while watching.

A recent photo of Xiaolaizi. She’s almost three months old and has grown a lot.

Recently, due to a job transfer, I have to move. There are so many things to deal with, and I’m really tired.

Some recent photos (the cat – showing never ends)

Just taken, a “ruthless” cat – lover’s photo.
