One year has passed, and I’m here to update this answer.
Chunhua passed away unexpectedly on May 27, 2021.
After a year of going from grief to letting go, I deeply feel that life is a series of farewells.
We accompanied each other for three years. I miss her and am extremely grateful.
In addition, Xiaolaizi is very healthy, and Laowu is also a strong young cat now.
Here are some recent photos of the mother – and – son pair.
In the blink of an eye, more than a year has passed. I found that this answer still gets likes and comments from time to time. Today, I’m here to update it. Xiaolaizi gave birth to five little babies, and each one is so cute.

The little babies were born on July 1, the birthday of the Communist Party of China, the 23rd anniversary of Hong Kong’s return, and the first early morning when the National Security Law officially came into effect. The photos were taken on July 13. The little kittens gradually started to open their eyes. I hope they can grow up healthily.
Chunhua freeloaded before and after Xiaolaizi’s pregnancy and really got a lot fatter. Since no one plays with her anymore, she’s a bit melancholy. Hahaha
The original answer is as follows
The experience is, well, helpless. This blue cat of mine, she didn’t inherit the kind and clingy qualities of this breed at all. Since I raised her, I have deeply doubted my parenting ability. I used to think that I would be a strict and principled mother in the future, but now I see myself as “the parent of an annoying brat”.
Her name is Chunhua, a female cat. She was given to me by a friend. I brought her home when she was two months old. When she first arrived, she looked very fierce (and she’s still fierce now).
This was when she was two months old. Big head, big head, no need to worry when it rains. Although she was a bit fierce, she was very cute with her fluffy fur.
I fed her from milk powder to cat food, raising her bit by bit. Maybe because I was too careful, she’s very picky. I bought several kinds of cat food for her to try, and she liked the most expensive one the best. Well, then we’ll just feed her that. Later, she grew up rapidly. When she was almost one year old, she was in heat for the first time. She meowed more in one day than in a whole year before.
And then, it was only natural to take her to be spayed. The process was a bit cruel, and the poor thing really suffered. She was really depressed for a while. (Sorry, Chunhua. Mom posted your nude photo.)
Before and after spaying
What she loves to do most usually is scratch the sofa and lie on the chaise longue.
I’m really used to this annoying – looking expression. Sometimes I feel that the relationship between her and me is just like that of roommates, maybe even worse.
She has a very human – like habit. No matter where she lies down, she has to put something under her body. When she lies on the ground, she uses slippers; when she lies in the bathroom, she uses the steps; when she lies on the bed, she uses the pillow. Now, please enjoy Chunhua’s series of lying – on – the – chaise – longue poses.
Her temper is really strange. She can only come to rub against you. If you want to hug her, forget it. Because of her hot temper, it’s common for me to get scratched when I can’t help but force – pet her. We just live like this, making things difficult for each other. Recently, she’s gotten even fatter, breaking through the ten – jin mark. One morning when I woke up, I vaguely thought there was a pig lying beside me.
I can post a hundred different ugly sleeping photos of her. Just imagine it. I’ll just post one. I’m afraid she’ll be disliked if I post more.
Occasionally, she’s very obedient. For example, when I’m sick, she seems to be able to sense that something is wrong with my body. She changes her usual rebellious character and lies obediently beside me, and from time to time, she’ll come over and smell my breath.
In winter, I wrapped her in my clothes and took her downstairs to recharge the electricity card. The look in her eyes in this photo is as innocent as a child’s.
Now she’s really fat. Here’s a recent photo.
Finally, a new member is about to join our family – Boniu.
Here are some photos of the little kittens.
