The Endearing and Quirky Traits of My Blue British Shorthair

The Endearing and Quirky Traits of My Blue British Shorthair

Update:

7. Hair – shedding

During the spring – summer season change, the house is full of “dandelions”. The carpet and wooden floor seem clean on the surface, but when you scrape them with a glass scraper, you’ll get a big ball of cat hair.

If you comb the thick and dense fur of a British Shorthair for 5 minutes, you’ll find that it still sheds when you touch it… Then you’ll start to think whether you should buy some other styles of cat combs…

8. Overly vigilant and immobile

It’s also not good at running away. It only has two skills to protect itself:

One is to hide, and the other is to lie down on the spot.

Whenever the owner wants to catch the cat, the blue British Shorthair can’t escape and can only be caught.

If it were a smart and agile American Shorthair, it would have already run out of the room.

The British Shorthair huddled in place looks pitiful and weak.

9. Not good at fighting

When a British Shorthair is in the middle of a fight, it always stops attacking, hisses, and tries to intimidate.

This is undoubtedly a sign of low confidence.

The British Shorthair has a single way to intimidate the enemy – hissing and acting fierce. After a while, the single – hissing tactic will be seen through by the opponent.

Insert a fighting advantage:

The British Shorthair is relatively heavy, with a big head and thick bones. It can resist in place, which is an advantage in weight.

Clumsy

Kittens are cute, but when they grow up, they become “cat pigs”. Their appearance is simple and honest, looking a bit dull. It’s hard to call them handsome or beautiful.

Inner beauty is not obvious, and it’s hard for the owner to show off

The inner advantages of blue British Shorthairs, such as not being picky about food, being quiet and not destroying the house, and making soft and cute meows occasionally, can’t be seen from the cat’s appearance. This naturally suppresses the owner’s desire to show off.

The original answer is as follows:

First, let’s talk about the advantages.

It has a quiet personality, is not talkative but smart, and its meows are soft, cute, and pleasant.

There are many disadvantages, though.

It eats everything, from yogurt, milk, sweet potatoes, and corn to plastic bags and cotton – thread balls. Before, it accidentally swallowed the silk floss in a fish – shaped toy. I took it to the hospital for examination and injections, and it cost me a thousand yuan.

It can’t be taught to talk, and it never talks except to ask you to clean the litter box and feed it. The syllables it can make are single, only “wawu”, “nya”, “miaowu”, “mie mie mie”, and “wang”.

It often secretly looks down on me and has its own little personality. One manifestation is that when I pet or hold it and it doesn’t like it, it will sigh and often show dissatisfaction.

You can be its “massage therapist” by petting its head, chin, and cheeks, but it doesn’t like to be held for a long time.

It’s finicky. It refused to pee or poop because it didn’t like tofu – based cat litter. The problem was solved only after I changed to bentonite cat litter.

It’s highly vigilant and a bit fierce. When it doesn’t like to be petted, it will bite me. When it first came to my home as a kitten and wasn’t familiar with me, it often hissed.

……

This is what it looks like

The way it rejects me is as follows

Covering its testicles

Its strange sleeping postures

When it’s getting fat

When it looks extremely fierce (actually when it’s yawning)

When it was having fun on the newly – bought cat climbing frame at home

As of April 23, 2021, with a lot of exercise and getting fat again, this is what it looks like. It’s one year and one month old now.

Update on April 26, 2021

Many people in the comments mentioned the cute meows of blue British Shorthairs.

Here’s the sound of it being aggrieved and angry when it was a kitten.

I was sweeping the floor with a vacuum cleaner, and my feet were moving around. It probably thought I was playing with it, so it jumped around excitedly, trying to catch my feet and biting them gently. After doing this several times, I was really bothered, so I had to lock it in a place where it could see me. I let it out after I finished sweeping. It was still very aggrieved afterwards.

Blue British Shorthairs really have aggrieved – looking eyes!
