I have a blue – and – white British Shorthair at home. Let me share my feelings.
About hair – shedding
I used to have a dog and I know that both cats and dogs shed hair. However, the hair that cats shed is finer and lighter compared to dogs. Moreover, cats like to climb around everywhere. So while dog hair usually scatters on the floor, cat hair can seem to be flying all over the place. And it’s everywhere, on the table, the cabinet, the sofa, and every other place. But the cleaning aunt said that the cat hair in my house is relatively less than those she has cleaned in other places.
Interaction
British Shorthairs are relatively quiet cats. They do engage in activities like “running around the house like crazy” which many cats love, but not as frequently. Most of the time, they sleep, wake up to ask for food, eat, poop, and then go back to sleep. Especially after being sterilized, the cat becomes extremely laid – back. Since I used to have a Border Collie, when I first got the cat, I was really not used to it because it had so little presence. When it was a kitten, it was more playful, but as it grew up, it became lazier. Sometimes, even when I use a cat – teaser stick, it looks like it’s just reluctantly “working”. However, it’s really clingy. Even when it’s sleeping, it likes to sleep next to people. It follows me when I take a bath or go to the toilet.

Eating, drinking, pooping, and peeing
It can really eat. While other cats can finish a bag of cat food in two months, mine can only last for one month. Other cats can eat one can of cat food in two meals, but mine finishes it in one meal. Correspondingly, it can also poop a lot. Other cats’ litter boxes can be cleaned once every two or three days, but I have to clean my cat’s litter box two or three times a day. And that poop, it’s really stinky, so stinky that it hits you right in the face.
Others
British Shorthairs are relatively large in size and not very suitable for being held and petted. Also, they really tend to get fat. People always say, “How cute your chubby cat is!” But although it’s cute, fat cats really have a higher risk of health problems, such as heart disease and arthritis. My cat is quite sturdy. However, a friend who runs a pet store told me that among the little kittens in his store, British Shorthairs are the ones that get sick the most. Maybe it varies from cat to cat. This is just for reference.
Look at how fat this big cat is. The doctor said it’s not even considered fat yet.
