Cats: The Beauty of Companionship Based on Personal Preference and Fate

It depends on personal preference and also on fate. My friend has a silver shaded British Shorthair. It’s so beautiful, looking stupid – cute and very clingy. Once you hold it, you don’t want to put it down. However, it’s also a super heavy shedder.

I have a blue chubby British Shorthair. A friend couldn’t keep it due to personal reasons. When I brought it home, it was already one year and eight months old and had been sterilized. It has a gentle personality, is aloof, loves to be clean, and is very self – disciplined. When it first arrived home, it had a stress reaction and didn’t eat cat food for three days.

To please it, we tried our best. We bought all kinds of canned food and snacks. As long as we heard that cats liked them, we bought them all. But it was so arrogant. Except for freeze – dried chicken grains and imported grain – free cat food, it wouldn’t eat anything else. We tried again and again but failed every time, which left us dumbfounded.

It doesn’t like to be held very much. When we hold it, it endures with great reluctance and looks extremely disgusted. Every time we pet or hold it, it immediately starts to lick its fur arrogantly. We don’t even know how much it dislikes us! But it likes to stay quietly beside us. In winter nights, it will sleep quietly beside my feet or on the top of the quilt.

We specially laid a towel quilt on the quilt for it to sleep on. It rarely meows. Even when it’s hungry and sees us adding cat food, it just waits quietly beside us. It’s deeply loved by our whole family, so even though we have a leather sofa at home, we can tolerate it. We specially customized sofa back covers and cushions for it. Because it’s a heavy shedder, we also bought a robotic vacuum cleaner. It’s really good at sweeping up cat hair. Every day when we go out, we let the robotic vacuum cleaner clean the floor, and when we come back, there’s almost half a box of cat hair.

No matter what kind of cat it is, compatibility and personal preference are the most important. People who like quietness had better raise quiet and gentle cats, while those who like liveliness can raise more energetic and noisy cats. Anyway, it’s all a fate of meeting and accompanying each other. Staying together through thick and thin is the best!
