Clarifications on the Discussion about the Value of Blue British Shorthairs

Added on April 16th. I won’t reply to the comments from overly sensitive people anymore. I will delete them all without even reading.

First of all, the scope of our discussion is why blue British Shorthairs are considered “cheap” cats. No one is discussing any issues about Chinese rural cats here. All my explanations and answers are based on the judgment of the market value of pedigree cats and my personal views, and have nothing to do with Chinese rural cats. The market is cruel. In the entire domestic market, far more people raise pedigree cats than Chinese rural cats.

I know many people feel sorry for Chinese rural cats, but the existence of Chinese rural cats is not something we create or can solve. As for some people who insist on “adoption instead of purchase”, then what is the significance of the existence of purchase? Why can’t I raise a pedigree cat? Why can’t I get a cat of the breed I like? Please read the question clearly before arguing with me. Thank you.

There are also some quite funny comments. This topic has nothing to do with Chinese rural cats at all, yet some people come in to criticize pedigree cats, trying to show that they are full of love and kind – hearted, raising Chinese rural cats and giving them a home. So what? I know you are great, but is this something you should flaunt? Moreover, there is no rule in this world that everyone is not allowed to buy and sell pets. And not everyone regards pets as children or family members. From my perspective, my pet is just my pet. I love it, but it doesn’t mean its status in my heart has risen to that of a family member.

Everyone has the right to raise and buy pets. I don’t need you to educate me and tell me about the disadvantages of pedigree cat breeding, because it really has nothing to do with me or this topic. Got it?
