The Story of a Dog After Adoption
I didn’t have a special affection for dogs originally. The idea of having a dog germinated after spending some time with my brother’s dog.
However, if I decided to raise a dog, I couldn’t just abandon it halfway and let the poor puppy become a stray dog. That would be too cruel.
After returning home to work, I always wanted to adopt a dog, preferably one that was unwanted. I heard that some dog – selling merchants keep making female dogs give birth to puppies to make money, which seriously harms the dogs’ health. So, if I were to get a dog, I wanted to give a home to an unwanted one, reducing the number of stray dogs in the world.
When I first brought her home, she looked like this.
And like this.

Shouldn’t a Bichon Frise look like this?
Is she really a Bichon Frise? There were frostbites on her ears and legs. It was really horrible. I was very worried that she was sick because there was blood in her feces. I felt seriously deceived.
Despite my doubts, I adopted her.
The Story of Keke:
I heard that her previous owner was a girl who, when she went to college, couldn’t take care of the dog anymore and asked the elderly at home to look after it. But somehow, she ended up like a stray dog. Her fur was so knotted that it couldn’t be combed through. The previous owner asked the pet store owner to find her a good home, so the pet store owner shaved off all her puppy fur, making her look like a rat.
I originally wanted a male dog, so I was a bit hesitant. But in the end, I decided to keep her.
When she got home, I found that her previous owner had trained her well. She didn’t poop or pee indoors, which was very reassuring.
When we were having a meal, I suddenly found that she could do the “praying” gesture. I was really surprised.
I heard that her previous owner called her Kobe, but we renamed her Keke, which means “lovely” in Chinese.
Of course, the changes she brought to my life were more than that.
At first, I thought the scars on her ears and legs were due to skin diseases, so I took her to the doctor. The doctor said it was probably frostbite and gave her this to wear to prevent her from scratching randomly.
Then, spring came, and gradually she became cuter. But since the weather hadn’t warmed up yet, I was still afraid to bathe her, worried that she might get sick again. So, she became a dirty dog.
It was really awful.
Then, I finally gave her a bath, and her appearance improved instantly.
Doesn’t she start to look like a little angel?
As time went by, Keke accompanied me more and more in my life, and I gradually became dependent on her.
