Mantou’s Illness and Daily Necessities: A Bichon Frise’s Raising Story

Oh, there was another time when Mantou got sick. Mantou was four months old then, and there were some red dots on its belly, some of which had scabbed over. I went to the pet store to inquire, and they said it was a skin disease. When I first heard it was a disease, I was really frightened. I felt both sorry for it and worried that it would cost a lot of money. The store owner noticed my unease and said that this was a minor problem.

It was just that there was always moisture on the belly, making it too damp, which led to the skin disease. Maybe the dog had played in the toilet or wasn’t dried thoroughly after a bath. It would recover after taking several medicated baths. So, I bought two bottles of medicine and had one medicated bath for it at the store. The two bottles of medicine cost 90 + 70 = 160 yuan. Since there wasn’t enough money left on my card, I recharged 500 yuan, which was the money I earned from my summer job. After getting home, I washed it with the medicine at intervals, and it gradually got better.

So far, my dog hasn’t had any other diseases. Perhaps it’s because when I went to my classmate’s house to pick up the puppy, I chose this chubby and whitest male puppy. My dad said that in a litter of puppies, there is usually one “puppy king”, the one that nurses the most, is the fattest, and has the best health. I guess that’s Mantou. It was also the most lively among all the puppies. When I went to my classmate’s house, it was the only one that clung to me, wanting me to pet and hold it. It was our first meeting, and the other puppies, being unfamiliar with me, didn’t come close. Only it wasn’t afraid of me. I thought it was fate at that time, but later I realized it was just its nature.

Basically, I’ve mentioned most of the expenses. I’ll add more if I remember anything later.

Now, let’s talk about some daily supplies.

I bought four leashes in total. I always chose the vest – type or harness – type ones because I thought it would be uncomfortable for the dog if it was directly leashed around the neck. I needed to buy four because the dog grew rapidly. I got one when it weighed 3 jin, one when it was between 3 – 6 jin, one when it was 6 – 10 jin, and now that it’s 11 jin, I bought another one. The first three were all pink vests with the same style and color, and the last one was a harness. I was worried that it would get hot in summer if it wore a vest. Altogether, they cost about 80 yuan.
