I’ve always been eager to have a cat because I think cats can meet the need for a sense of dependence of a socially – awkward home – bound person like me, and at the same time, they won’t pester me (since cats are usually aloof). So, when I saw someone in my WeChat Moments offering a cat for adoption, I made a quick decision without hesitation and contacted them right away. That’s how I brought Brain – flower home.
When I brought him back, he was already over seven months old, and I completely missed his cute kitten stage. However, he was still very good – looking. But my feelings were a bit complicated because he was so different from the ideal cat in my mind. I had imagined that a cat should like to doze off in a high place, observing the activities of the mortal world, and then gracefully jump down to have a meal when it’s time. If the owner tried to touch it, it would roll its eyes impatiently or just jump away, like a noble in the night.

Brain – flower is the exact opposite of what I had in mind. When I first brought him back, it took him a full three hours to jump out of the box, and then he immediately got into his little nest. During that time, he kept meowing in a super – pitiful voice. But he’s a male cat!
Later, when we got really familiar with each other, his dog – like traits started to show. Basically, he follows me everywhere I go. He even won’t let me close the bathroom door when I’m using the toilet. Otherwise, he’ll meow frantically at the door. He’s extremely clingy. The only time he won’t disturb me is when I’m lying in bed sleeping. Usually, whenever he wants to eat, drink, use the litter box, play with me, or have me groom his fur, or when he jumps too high and doesn’t want to jump down by himself, he’ll come over and meow non – stop. Especially when I’m doing my homework, as soon as I sit on the chair, he thinks I’m free and starts meowing. It’s not a sharp, ear – piercing meow, but a really pitiful and plaintive one. He’s far from being aloof.
But I still like him a lot. Although he’s unexpectedly annoying, clingy, and talkative, he’s really cute. Why do I like raising a tabby cat? Because they’re truly adorable. No matter what breed they are or whether they’re expensive or not, the more you look at your own cat, the more you’ll love it.
