How I Came to Love My Unusual Cat, Chimera

How I Came to Love My Unusual Cat, Chimera

It was because I didn’t know much about cats when we bought one, haha.

At that time, my boyfriend wanted to keep a cat. I’ve always liked dogs, and my impression of cats was that they were hyperactive, scratching the sofa, not affectionate, and hard to bond with. I was quite resistant to the idea. I told him I’d rather keep a rabbit. But he kept pestering me, insisting that I give it a try, saying it would be a brand – new experience. I thought to myself, “You’ve never kept a cat either, how would you know?”

Then, on a weekend, we went to the flower – and – bird market…

We walked around, and most of the stalls were selling dogs. There was only one store that specialized in selling cats. But they were all pedigree cats, and they were already adult cats, looking quite expensive. (So, was it because we couldn’t afford them? Haha.) We decided to stay away. Later, in another store that sold dogs, we saw two kittens. One was a long – haired grey one, and the other was a medium – long – haired, rather dark – colored one. Learning from our previous experience of buying a dog (we have a Poodle at home, and its eyes are a bit small, making it look kind of silly), although I thought the grey one had a nicer coat, the dark – colored one had significantly bigger eyes. So, we chose it. It cost me 700 yuan!! Looking back, I was really naive and had more money than sense at that time…

We named this little dark – colored thing Chimera. Now, here come the pictures~ Although it’s not a tabby cat, it’s still a Chinese rural cat.

Chimera just brought home, looking fierce in a cute way:

Since it was a kitten, it developed the habit of guarding the door for me when I go to the toilet:

Yes, I was squatting on the toilet, holding toilet paper in my hand ( ¨̮ )

Oh my god, it was so cute when it was little!!

I love this picture so much!! It’s incredibly cute!!

Concentrating on watching me play games and accompany me while I watch dramas:

↓↓↓ Warning: Suddenly growing up alert!!!

Teasing our Cream (that little – eyed Poodle)

Do you think you’re cute? Let go! Stop biting!

You should be grateful that mom captured such a domineering side of you. The next second, you were beaten up by the kitten.

Now it has become a big, chubby cat. I can’t hold it with one hand anymore.

My friend said Chimera might have Maine Coon genes. Anyway, I always introduce it as a long – haired rural cat ┗=͟͟͞͞( ˙∀˙)=͟͟͞͞┛

Fortunately, Chimera has big eyes, so it can still act cute to some extent. Otherwise, I’d dislike it so much because it’s so silly, haha.

After we brought it back, my boyfriend found out how naughty the cat was. It was jumping around, constantly meowing, and even peed on his quilt. It was completely different from the charming and cute little cat he imagined, the kind that could turn into a cat – girl in his fantasy (。). So, apart from teasing, petting, and holding it, I’ve been taking care of everything else. Thanks to him, I’ve gradually changed from someone who disliked and didn’t know much about cats to the person my friends come to ask when their cats get a minor illness.
