My Rongrong is sick. She has bladder stones, and the doctor said it’s because she doesn’t drink enough water.
But actually, she quite likes to drink water. I think it might also be because the protein content in the six – fish cat food she’s been eating is too high.
Moreover, after I changed her food to six – fish cat food half a year ago, she stopped loving canned food and snacks. She only has eyes for the six – fish cat food.
It could also be that due to the lack of wet food intake, she developed stones.
Now, my little cutie is in the difficult process of post – operative recovery.
This also serves as a reminder to all cat owners to find the right cat food for their little masters, and it’s very necessary to supplement with wet food.
When I picked up Rongrong, she was already eight months old. Her previous owner also had a British Shorthair cat at home, and Rongrong fought with the British Shorthair every day, brutally abusing her opponent with her long – leg advantage…
When I went to meet her, her previous owner said:
“Her name is Tiaotiao. Her personality isn’t very good (she’s not affectionate by nature).
She’s not very affectionate and doesn’t meow much (there’s something wrong with her vocal cords).
She’s extremely lively! Loves to play and make a ruckus (she has a violent personality and loves to fight).
Although her name is Tiaotiao, she herself probably… doesn’t know (she’s a bit silly).”
When she first became part of my family, everything was exactly as the previous owner described.
But I firmly believed that she was a cute little princess and must possess adorable traits (I don’t know where this blind confidence came from…).

So I changed her name to Rongrong.
She’s very smart. It only took her a week, with the guidance of dried small fish and cookies, to remember her new name.
Then came our daily love – filled moments. Feeding, eating, meowing, and our “love affair” happened eight hundred times a day (unilateral on my part).
About half a year passed like this. I went home to hold my wedding during the Mid – Autumn Festival and didn’t come back until after the National Day holiday, leaving Rongrong alone at home for half a month.
The change happened in an instant…
After I came back, my Rongrong had changed. She became so clingy that it was almost too much.
And! She became extremely good at meowing! Her meows were melodious, with different tones for being angry, hungry, etc. Her vocal cords were in great shape and very powerful!
The best thing about Rongrong is that now that she’s over two years old, she’s never been sick, never peed on the bed, and has never troubled me because of her health issues, except when she’s hungry…
So, tabby cats are really a very easy – to – raise breed.
As for the changes it brings to life, you need to shower a lot of love on her. Maybe there won’t be an immediate response at first, but believe that continuous love – giving will surely get a response…
After all, as a cat owner, isn’t our main job to clean the litter box with love?
I’m considering whether to find a companion for her… I’m not sure if I dare to find a short – legged one. Hahaha
