I picked it up on the roadside! I pestered my boyfriend to take it home on a cold day! (Mainly because we already had a dog at home and didn’t have much energy left…) It was about two months old when I picked it up. I don’t know why it ran to the roadside by itself… I really felt sorry for it…
After bringing it home, we didn’t have any cat supplies at all. We gradually bought them. Since we had no experience, this was our first time raising a cat…
We named it Lucky. Although we know that the Dragon Li cat is a native Chinese cat, we’re raising it in a rather pampered way… The cat food isn’t cheap, and it’s never been short of cat cans or cat snacks. We’ve prepared all kinds of supplies without any compromise. After all, since we’ve never raised a cat before, it’s better to be well – prepared…
And really, I was shocked by its intelligence.
It knew how to use the litter box right away when we prepared it.
After we bought a cat – scratching board, it stopped scratching the sofa (now that it’s grown up, it’s started scratching again. Maybe it wants to get our attention ⚠️).
It knew to go to the cat bed we prepared to sleep (now it doesn’t sleep there anymore. Now it climbs onto the bed every day. I think it’s on purpose).
My boyfriend doesn’t allow it to get on the bed and will chase it off as soon as it does. But I’m more indulgent and won’t chase it… So, as soon as my boyfriend gets up and goes to work in the morning, it will immediately jump onto the bed to sleep with me. As soon as my boyfriend comes back, it will immediately get off the bed. Even when my boyfriend is not at home and I’m not on the bed… it will occasionally jump on the bed. As soon as my boyfriend comes back… it will instantly appear on the chair… So my boyfriend has never caught it on the bed.
Then, just how easy is it to raise? I’ve never seen such an easy – to – raise pet. I think it’s much easier to raise than a dog… It can entertain itself. You don’t need to worry about it. Sometimes it teases the dog and has a great time, making our dog so angry that it sometimes even chokes on water. When the cat food in its bowl is gone, it goes to steal dog food. It’s not picky. I don’t know if all cats are not picky or it’s just this one. People say cats don’t like orange peels, but it actually rummages in the trash can for them. The natural dog food we bought for the dog, the dog is picky and won’t eat a bite, but it eats it with gusto. And it doesn’t stink… Because if the dog doesn’t take a bath for two weeks, it stinks to high heaven, but it never has any unpleasant smell on its body… except for its cat poop, which is incredibly stinky. (But its shortcoming is that it doesn’t let us bathe it. The last time we gave it a bath, it screamed throughout the whole process and was listless for two days. We haven’t dared to bathe it since then…)
I really love it so much that I almost love it more than my boyfriend. When it meows softly in my arms and rubs its nose against mine, my heart melts. So I really tolerate it infinitely.
If it screams or scratches my boyfriend when he holds it, I’ll blame my boyfriend for making it uncomfortable and not holding it properly…
When it knocked my eyebrow pencil off the table and the dog chewed it up, I’ll blame the dog for chewing everything randomly… not blame it for knocking it off the table…
When we’re eating, if the dog comes over and tries to smell or lick, I’ll scold it or put it in the cage… But if the cat comes over, I’ll gently hold it in my arms…
I’m indeed a bit biased… Although Lucky is just a cat, and a male cat at that, I’m raising it like a little daughter, protecting it everywhere. And the dog is like a naughty son who gets scolded every day… But it’s okay. My boyfriend usually takes the dog’s side, so the balance between the cat and the dog is maintained.
Now I just hope it stays healthy and doesn’t get sick. I love Lucky to death!
