The process was really quite complicated. It took me over half an hour to gain its trust. After taking it to the hospital, the situation was not good. There were a lot of fleas, it was malnourished, and many of its physical indicators were abnormal. So I spent money on its treatment. I stayed at the hospital for another two or three hours before taking it back and quarantining it.
Every day, I had to spray insecticide on it to kill flea eggs. After spraying, I covered it with a towel for ten minutes, then wiped it gently with warm water and dried it. There were also worms in its ears, so I had to clean them with medicated drops every three days. Due to malnutrition, I bought special cat food at the hospital. Later, when I found its defecation was abnormal, I got more medicine and bought probiotics to regulate its digestion. After about 20 days of such efforts, everything was finally okay.
When “capturing” it
During the quarantine period, the two cats interacted through the crack of the door. It was a very heartwarming scene.
Since then, the two cats have started their happy lives, and I’m often amused by them to the point of looking like a fool. (Once when I was on the phone with a friend, the two cats did something silly, and I burst out laughing.)

Usually, I use a laser pointer and cat teaser to play with them, and we have a great time. I even found that Blueberry still retains its hunting instincts. Several times when I wasn’t paying attention, it bit the cat teaser and ran under the bed with it, growling “woof – woof” as a warning. Because of this, several cat teasers were bitten to pieces.
Raising pets is really a lot of fun. What makes me most gratified is that no matter how late I get home, as soon as I open the door, I can see the two cats waiting for me at the door. At that moment, I really feel that all the energy and money I’ve spent on raising them are truly worth it.
When I’m watching TV shows at night, the two cats lie on my lap, purring and snuggling up to each other. It’s really wonderful.
When I told my friends about this, they all said, “You really should find a wife.”
Raising pets also has its frustrating aspects. Cat litter is often scattered all over the floor, and having my headphone cords and data cables chewed up is a common occurrence. During the period when Blueberry was in heat, it often peed on the bed, wetting several of my quilts. And the pungent smell of its urine during heat was extremely strong and couldn’t be removed. I could only put away all the quilts during the day and take them out again at night when I went to sleep. I had to throw away all the urine – soaked bed sheets and quilts. Even though I had it neutered immediately, this bed – wetting situation continued for over a month because the hormones in its body hadn’t been completely metabolized.
As a Virgo, I’m gradually getting used to such situations. Just clean up when it gets dirty.
And then there’s the problem of hair shedding. There’s cat hair all over my clothes and bed. I have to clean it up every day. Alas, it’s a happy kind of annoyance.
Please ignore this thick thigh and focus on the main point.
Let me share some other pictures and videos.
Should I post a photo of myself? Wonder if I’ll run into someone I know on Zhihu.
What else should I write?
I really want to start a family now. My mindset has completely changed. My goal this year is to lose weight and try to find a girlfriend.
I can’t say that all these changes are brought about by the two cats, but they have indeed influenced me a great deal. At least, in the days when I’m constantly being beaten by life, they have added so much joy.
Yesterday, I weighed Blueberry, and it’s already 13 pounds. It’s time to put it on a diet. I hope they can accompany me for more than a decade, or even longer.
