My Resilient and Lovable Stray Cat

My Resilient and Lovable Stray Cat

She’s smart and tough.

After wandering for 8 months, she was taken home by me. Since it was my first time raising a cat, it took a long time for us to get used to each other.

Now she’s three years old. When I first encountered her, I saw her adoption information online. Because she really caught my eye, I decided to go and take a look. When I arrived at the location, she was right next to the community security booth, lying on the ground on a kraft paper box, rolling around on her back and rubbing left and right. She looked so pitiful yet cute that I immediately bought a pet carrier and took her home.

When she entered the door, she didn’t seem to be afraid of strangers. At night, she even jumped onto my pillow. Unfortunately, I disliked that she hadn’t taken a bath and chased her off. She was so thin that her entire back was only as wide as three of my fingers. The next day, I took her to a pet store to get her fur shaved, vaccinated, and dewormed. Only when we entered the door again did I completely relax.

Since she was diagnosed with ringworm at the pet store, I didn’t dare to get too close to her at first. I bought all kinds of nutritious cat food, nutritional supplements, a UV lamp, medications from the pet hospital for eating and bathing. I also took her out to sunbathe regularly every day. It was a hassle for both her and me. After half a year, she was basically recovered. Because she took frequent baths during the treatment period, she developed a good habit of loving baths.

When I was raising her, it was basically the lowest point in my life. I was sick, my boyfriend broke up with me, the company was laying off employees, I didn’t have enough for the down payment on a house, and I had no luck in job interviews. So my mood was very volatile. A cat’s personality isn’t as proactive as a dog’s. Sometimes, I would hit her because of a trivial matter and then regret it right after. Fortunately, this little one doesn’t hold grudges. After a while, she would come and rub against me again. Once, when I saw that her poop was dry and her nose was dry, I fed her a human – use fire – reducing pill. I can’t remember the name. She foamed at the mouth right after eating it. I was terrified, but she didn’t seem to feel anything. So I’ve always been glad that I adopted a little stray. She’s so tough.

Also, because of her, because she accompanied me through that period of depression, self – doubt, and hardship, she’s truly a friend in need! I love her more every day. I hope she can live a much longer life, maybe 30 years. I hope she can accompany me until I’m 60! My dear.
