My Adopted Tabby Cat: A Journey of Growth and Companionship

My Adopted Tabby Cat: A Journey of Growth and Companionship

I think it’s okay. My cat is a bit wild.

First, here’s a selfie of us.

I adopted him when he was three months old. The first day I saw him… I thought he wasn’t good – looking, kind of ugly.

In the first few days after adoption, he was extremely scared of people and would run to wherever he could hide. Later, as he got familiar with us, he actually started biting people…

He would chase after your trouser legs and bite, or hug your thigh and take a bite.

The older he got, the more it hurt when he bit. I realized that something had to be done, that I needed to discipline him. So I grabbed him and gave him a beating. But the more I beat him, the harder he bit… I thought this cat was a lost cause, that he would always be like this. However… as he grew up, he actually became more obedient and sensible than before.

Last month, I caught him rummaging through the trash can. After giving him a good scolding, he no longer has the habit of rummaging through the trash can.

It seems he’s more afraid of pain than when he was a kitten, and he doesn’t dare to bite as hard either…

He’s not very clingy, but when he’s been alone for a while, he’ll come over, look at me, meow once, and then lie on me, asking me to pet him. Once he’s satisfied, he walks away, but this time he doesn’t go far. He just stays by my side, watching me…

His expressions are really rich. His looks are not on the same level as when he was a kitten.

When he sleeps, he especially likes to hold onto a doll and won’t let go. Every time he’s sleeping, I really like to play around with him. After all, he always disturbs me when I’m trying to sleep.

The most severe beating I gave him was when he ran into the kitchen and smashed all my plates and bowls to pieces. That night, he cried like a child from the beating, and I was shocked… Since then, I haven’t dared to beat him that hard, and he hasn’t dared to go into the kitchen again…

For me, a person living alone, having him by my side is really great.

When I’m bored at home and call him, he’ll come over. No matter if he’s pooping, sleeping, or eating, as soon as I call, he’ll slowly walk over, lie down, and look at you.

Oh, really, tabby cats are really cute…

But I… still want to get a dog. Hahaha
