This was the second day after I adopted my kitten. I weighed him, and he was 700g. The pet store said he was a little over one month old. He knew how to use the litter box right after he came.
Then, his “dad” and I had something to attend to and were away for two days. We asked a friend to look after him. When we came back, the house was in a mess. There was poop and pee everywhere.
Then I found out that he had ringworm. (After all, he was a little stray. The mother cat might have had it, and being small, his resistance was poor.) He also had diarrhea with blood in his stool. I immediately took him to be tested for feline distemper and canine coronavirus. (At that time, I wasn’t too worried because his mental state was the best I had ever seen in a cat.)

When he was less than three months old, his eyes got infected. He kept tearing with a lot of discharge, so I got him eye drops and ointment.
It was also from that time that he started to change from an extremely thin cat that I couldn’t fatten up no matter how hard I tried to a cat that could eat and started to gain weight.
In early September, he vomited. I wasn’t sure if it was because he secretly licked the brown sugar that I accidentally left outside. I took his temperature, and it was slightly high, so I did physical cooling as shown in the picture.

Well, he’s been extremely naughty since he was a kitten, probably because of his name “Xutailang”. Biting people is a common thing. Hitting him doesn’t work, but I still do it, at least it can make him behave for a while.
Except for the period right after I brought him home, he’s not particularly affectionate. Only when he wakes up or when you come back from outside, he will meow around you, asking you to pet and hold him. Of course, cats are moody. After being petted for a couple of times, he might bite you.
There are a lot of frustrating times, like when he’s sick, bites people, disobeys, or makes a mess at home.
But surely he brings me more warmth. Sometimes when I’m really tired and come home, there’s this little thing that I can hug, kiss, and who acts cute with me. Most of the time, he does his own thing (except when I’m applying skincare and makeup, he’s extremely curious).
Each cat has a different personality and is suitable for different owners. May every cat owner be treated gently. May every little cat be able to crawl into a warm quilt in winter.

On Women’s Day, we adopted another cat. His formal name is Yongzheng, and his nickname is Laosi, but we generally call him Leopard.
We adopted Leopard because when we left Xutailang at the cat cafe during the winter vacation, the owner of the cat cafe saw that the two cats played really well together. Also, the cat cafe wasn’t suitable for the timid and proud Leopard.
When he first came home, he hid in the corner, being very timid. He only drank water and basically didn’t eat or ate very little. And he vomited after eating (it was a stress reaction).
Before, he didn’t let us pet or hold him and didn’t act cute. But these days, having fun with Xutailang, he has started to act cute.
I hope the two little guys won’t get sick and will grow up loving each other.
