Quite a few people think it’s an American Shorthair? In fact, it’s not. It doesn’t entirely look like an American Shorthair either. At least the face shape is completely different. It’s probably a mixed – breed cat. The most traditional Dragon Li cat is that brown – black color, not this silver – white. But now this silver – white – patterned Dragon Li cat is quite common. I’ve seen a lot of them on Zhihu. Nowadays, many backyard breeders cross Dragon Li cats with American Shorthairs. If the offspring have better looks, they sell them as American Shorthairs (American Shorthairs have a mackerel tabby pattern). American Shorthairs are more expensive.
Some people who don’t know much may feel something is wrong when they buy back such mixed – breed cats. It’s hard to tell when they’re kittens, but when they grow up, they never develop jowls and have a thin, pointed face. The body shape is also different. When a Dragon Li cat gets fat, it looks a bit out of proportion and just gives the impression of being “fat” because its frame is thin. When an American Shorthair gets fat, it looks nicer, round and cute.
I’m not a professional. But after raising a cat, I’ve paid more attention to these things. The more I’ve seen, the more I’ve understood. I used to be confused about this too.
But who cares? Tens of thousands of cat owners don’t care what breed their cats are. They all think their own cats are the most beautiful.

Just like me!! So I’m going to update a wave of videos again!!
It’s easy to raise. Very easy to raise. It seems that native Chinese cats are all quite easy to raise.
I’m one of those cat owners chosen by my cat! (With a proud face ╰(´︶`)╯)
In May 2018, I went to a client’s place with my boss. Then we met this little guy downstairs. It was so cute that I couldn’t resist petting it. The little cutie kept following us to the elevator. At that time, I was worried that it was a free – roaming cat with an owner and that it might get lost if it got on the elevator. So I didn’t let it on.
About two hours later! (Actually, I had an idea in my mind when I was in the client’s office!! 〃∀〃. If she was still there when we went downstairs, I would “take” her home. I was renting a house, and my roommate had a little Teddy. They could play together.) When we went downstairs, she was still there!! So I immediately took her away.
Actually, I never thought about raising a cat. My partner and I both liked dogs at first and had planned to raise a dog later. But since my roommate got a dog, I helped her pick up poop, walk the dog, and watched the dog chew on apples, damage the wall and table corners. So I gave up the idea of raising a dog. There was indeed an “impulsive” element when I took the cat home. Don’t follow my example! When raising a pet, you must think carefully before you act!
After taking her home, I took a leave of absence and took her for a check – up. Because this kitten had such a good – looking appearance, I was worried that she had been abandoned due to illness. I also told the client that if there was a cat – lost notice posted downstairs, they should inform me.
She was very naughty during the check – up. It cost more than 1000 yuan!
(What’s the difference between this and me spending 1000 yuan to buy a native Chinese cat myself??) We did some blood tests and other things. Fortunately, there was no incurable disease. She just had a severe case of ear mites.
↓ You can see from the picture below that the inside of her ear is very dark.

On the first night she came, she stuck to me, purring ↓↓↓
She likes kneading on my face 〃∀〃 (My face is soft and big)
My partner, who didn’t like her much at first ↓↓ now shows complete servitude! ╮( ̄⊿ ̄)╭

I’m going to be depressed for a while
Even after the operation, she still acts like a “master”
When it comes to changes
Of course, I spend less money on myself!!!
She has become an indispensable part of our family
After a day of work, knowing that there’s a little life waiting for you at home, anyone who has raised a cat must know that feeling!
She has to sleep on the bed every day! So I didn’t buy her a cat bed at all!
Dragon Li cats are really easy to raise. After her ear mites were cured, she hasn’t gotten sick again. She had diarrhea once, but it healed on its own. Her personality is also good. My cat isn’t very clingy, but she’s very healing. I don’t have to worry about her eating, drinking, pooping, or peeing.
Raising a cat can definitely enhance your happiness!
Finally, remember to adopt instead of buying!!! Otherwise, go for a walk in the underground garage in winter. You’re likely to find a cat!!
