I’m not sure if it can be considered easy to raise. Dragon Li cats are quite energetic and active. They basically eat everything and have a strong vitality, so I guess they are easy to raise.
But when I picked her up, I didn’t think about whether she was easy to raise or not. I just thought that if she could survive on the streets, there was no reason she couldn’t survive with me…
I’ve been allergic to cat hair since I was a child, and it can trigger asthma. My family used to have a big white cat, but we gave it away later. In fact, I didn’t like cats before. When I was a kid, the big white cat at home would compete with me for my parents’ attention. It would bully me when it saw that my parents treated me better. Once, it bit my finger like eating a chicken foot. Later, I went to the hospital and got rabies shots for a week.

After that, I didn’t have much affection for cats. Coupled with my allergy, I never thought about raising a cat again.
But perhaps it was fate. It rained all week the week I picked up Momo. There were a lot of stray cats downstairs in my community. One day when I was coming home, I saw about four or five stray cats from a distance. They had the same coat pattern, so they were probably a family. When I walked to the entrance of the community, the other cats hid far away, but this cute little one suddenly jumped out, circled around me, refused to leave, and wasn’t afraid of people.
At first, I didn’t dare keep it at home, and I didn’t have the intention of raising it either. I fed it some food and then let it go.
But I kept thinking about it. The next day, when I returned to the entrance of the community to see it, I don’t know if it recognized me, but it meowed around me and even climbed up my clothes to my shoulder. This is really fate, I thought.
The weather was constantly rainy at that time, and it was so small. I really couldn’t bear to imagine it having to eat garbage every day. So I told my parents that I hoped we could keep it at home and help find it an adopter.
My parents knew me well… They said that if I wanted to help it, I should keep it. At that time, one of its eyes was clearly inflamed. I didn’t dare take it home rashly. I took it to the hospital for a physical examination. Besides having fleas, I got eye drops for it and bought a small cage.
The doctor said it was still very small, probably only a little over one month old, and it was a female.
Kittens are really naughty, but that’s also what makes them cute. They are just like little children and require a lot of patience.
Being naughty at home every day
Yesterday, I weighed this little rascal, and she’s already two pounds! When I first picked her up and weighed her at the veterinary hospital, she was only 0.45kg, less than one pound.
I’ll be satisfied as long as she grows up happily.
Here’s the latest update:
I saw that some lovely people asked me questions about allergies and asthma attacks. Let me explain.
Actually, my asthma was a long – time – ago thing. I only remember that the doctor clearly told me not to raise a cat, as it would trigger my asthma. And I took medicine and used a nebulizer for many years. Later, when I gave up using the nebulizer, it just ended like that. Now that the cat is at home, I haven’t had an asthma attack again.
Regarding allergies, I’ve experienced cat allergies many times. For example, when I went to a cat cafe with friends, I would keep sneezing, my eyes would water, and my face would start to itch. It was really a painful and difficult experience. But from the day I brought the cat home, I remember that on the first day when I held her, I had obvious itching and sneezing. After taking allergy medicine, I was fine. That was the only time, and I haven’t had any discomfort since then. I’m also very curious why. Hahaha, I really want to know the reason…
Falling asleep while licking her bottom
This little “pig” is almost three pounds now, I think. I’m really surprised. Before, I only thought dogs were smart and spiritual, but now I find that cats are the same. She knows that my parents don’t allow her to get on the bed. Only when I’m home alone with her does she get on the bed and sleep sprawled out on my bed. Hahahaha
