March 23, I was preparing for the civil service exam. My mother was afraid that the cat would affect my studies, so she moved the cat to a shop 5 kilometers away from my home.
The cat had never seen a stranger at home before. When we sent the cat there in an airline box, the cat kept meowing in the box. The aunt in the shop said that it would be fine after seeing strangers in a few days, so she tied the cat to an iron pillar in the shop with a cloth rope and put food and water. As a
result, when they went to check on it the next morning, the cat had bitten the rope on its head and ran away. At that time, I was preparing for the exam at home. He told me about it in the evening. So after dinner that night, my dad and I drove to the store to find the cat. My family’s store has a second-floor mezzanine of about 700 square meters (the second floors of other stores are not completely sealed), and there are usually some goods piled on it.
At that time, I knew that cats usually like to run to high places in an unfamiliar environment, and they can’t run far.
I called the kitten’s name a few times on the second floor of the store. Sure enough, the kitten ran out from the gap between a pile of goods after hearing my voice. Then I put the cat bowl, cat litter, cat bed and so on on the second floor. After stroking the kitten a few times, I went home with peace of mind after seeing the cat. In
this way, for as short as two or three days and as long as four or five days, my dad and I would go to the second floor of the store at night to feed the cat cat food, shovel cat litter, and stroke the kitten a few times. During the day, I asked the sisters and aunts in the store to take care of the kitten when they saw it. A month passed like this.
Later, sometimes when I went there at night, the kitten was not there. Later, I heard from the aunts and sisters in the store that the kitten slept on the cardboard box in the mezzanine on the second floor during the day and went out to play at night. In this way, I went to the shop once a month. Sometimes I would meet the kitten playing with my sister and aunt on the first floor of the shop. Sometimes I didn’t see the kitten. At that time, the kitten was no longer afraid of strangers in the shop and dared to sleep directly on the goods at the door of the shop.
Not long after I went to the shop, I
was no longer afraid of people. I hadn’t lost much weight during the shop. At this time, I was no longer afraid of strangers. I
became very thin in the shop for half a year .
At that time, I went to Chengdu to study. Basically, I only went home once a month and went to see my kitten once a month. The
kitten lying on the mezzanine on the second floor of the shop was very thin. In September 2023, my mother told me to go and see the kitten. The cat didn’t eat much and was not in good condition. In September 2023 , the kitten was very thin and didn’t eat much . When I went there, the cat saw me coming and ran to me again. I saw the cat’s thin appearance and felt very pitiful. I decided to take it home. At the end of September 2023, I took my cat home, and the kitten slowly became fat at home. I just returned home in October 2023. After I brought the kitten home in November 2023 , the kitten’s condition became better and better, and I also successfully finished the exam.
In February 2024, I started working in the next county, 80 kilometers away from home, and I could only go home once on weekends. The kitten became more and more bold and would go out at night. It would go down the stairs from the 24th floor of my house to the community on the ground floor to play. After playing, it would go back to the 24th floor through the stairwell and meow. My mother would open the door and let it go home when she heard its meowing. During the National Day this year, it ran out and didn’t come back. It was found behind another building. Later, when it came back, a positioning device was put on its head, so its irregular location could be seen. So far, as of this writing, it has been out for five days and has not returned.
