My tabby cat Taoqi went missing

in September 2014. My dad said he hadn’t seen Taoqi for a few days, and he never found him again. When I went home before, I saw that he was very thin and thought he had parasites. So I asked my mom to deworm him. My mom said that he ate more and got fatter. I was relieved. Who knew that he would suddenly disappear. It was exactly five years from September 2018 to September 2014.

——————————

My wife picked him up in September 2018. Because my wife is pregnant, he is now in my hometown and raised by my parents. When I went back in October 2019, she gave birth to four kittens (2 black cats – pure black ones, and 2 tabby cats. I personally think they are not as good-looking as their mother). My mom gave away 2 of them, and the other 2 were sent away when I came back. My parents said that she was rarely at home during the day before, and she basically didn’t go out since she gave birth to the kittens. When I went back, the two kittens were already 2 months old. Because my parents were not at home during the day, the kittens were very shy and I couldn’t get close to them. I stayed at home for a few days. We hadn’t seen each other for more than half a year. She was not shy at all. On the second night after I went back, she picked up a big bug and put it under my feet when I was in the room. When I was basking in the sun in the backyard during the day, she ran to the back door many times and called her two babies with a voice that I felt was very majestic. I think she wanted the babies to have a good relationship with me (I think that kind of call is specifically for communicating with her babies, because I have never heard it before.

Every time she called like this, the babies responded). Before going to work, I sent her to be sterilized. Because there was no pet store in town, I sent her to the city. In the car, she was very nervous and kept calling out in a frightened voice, looking for a place to go out. After half an hour, she was comforted and lay on the back seat. I could hear her breathing very fast, but when I looked back at her, she would always respond to me with her eyes. When I took her to the place, I just picked her up and she saw the unfamiliar environment and suddenly broke free and ran to the ground. The boss said it was bad. The cat might have run away here by itself, and there were many cars on the road. Fortunately, my car door was open, so she ran back to the car by herself, but I couldn’t catch her. After a stalemate of half an hour, I thought she saw me on the busy street, it was too embarrassing to catch a cat in the car with her butt sticking up, so she let me catch her (to be honest, if she didn’t let me catch her, I really couldn’t catch her, she would go back and forth between the seats and under the seats).

I don’t know much about the local pet store, I haven’t been home for many years, so I found a pet store on Gaode that said it was certified by Gaode, and I also called to confirm whether it can sterilize the female cat. The boss said that I could take her back in about 15 days, but she kept feeding her kittens, and then her milk swelled, and then it became inflamed and swollen. Because I was worried, I drove to the pet store alone to see her about 10 days later. Her breasts were still swollen like stones. The boss said that she was breastfed for too long and the nutrition was too good (when I went back, she might have been breastfed for too long, and she was very thin). She didn’t like the Royal Canin I gave her, but she liked the big bag of cat food that cost 10 yuan from the boss (maybe she had been eating Royal Canin for too long). Finally, it stayed in the pet shop for nearly a month before I took it home. I was very worried that its surgery would not be successful, but fortunately it was fine.

During the Chinese New Year, my dad sent me photos, and it had gained more than a circle of weight…

The pictures below are basically taken according to the time.

When I first picked it up, it almost starved to death outside. It was trembling when it walked in the first few days.

It was the peak of its appearance.

I went back to my hometown.

During the Chinese New Year in 2018, it seemed that it was unhappy. The picture below looks like it is about to cry. I feel guilty about it.

The picture below was taken when it was just sent to the pet shop. It was very nervous.

Because of the epidemic this year, I couldn’t go home for the Chinese New Year. My dad took a picture to show me. It was really fat like a pig…

I went back in November and was thinner than before. My parents said that she is very dependent on people. She greets people when she comes home every day and rubs against people’s trouser legs. When we left, she also watched us leave from the same place.
