I took Qibao to get sterilized on 1.31. A week later, on 2.8, I found that Qibao started vomiting yellow water. His mental state began to deteriorate (the incubation period of cat plague is 2-9 days, and Qibao’s onset time is very consistent. He should have been infected with cat plague when he went to the hospital for sterilization. Here I advise everyone to make sure to vaccinate your cats! When my Qibao wanted to vaccinate him at first, his parents thought that it was unnecessary because the tabby cat was hardy, so they didn’t vaccinate him. This is the thing I regret most for not insisting on! If he had been vaccinated, Qibao might not have suffered this torture!)

On the morning of February 9, I found that Qibao vomited occasionally and began to have diarrhea, which was watery and a little bloody. And he began to run to the toilet frequently. So I took Qibao to the pet hospital that morning, took a film and did a blood routine (cost 315). The white blood cell count had dropped to 0.47 (the normal value should be 5.5-19.5), and cat plague was confirmed. When the doctor asked me if I would treat it, I was completely confused. What I feared came true. I didn’t expect that he really got cat plague. Because the pet hospital will start the annual holiday on February 11, the treatment can only be done in the pet hospital for less than two days. The doctor cannot guarantee whether the cat will get better. It is possible that the cat will not be saved even if the money is spent. And the cost is also very expensive. It costs 900 yuan to be hospitalized for two days of infusion. I have not started working yet, so I can only ask my mother for help. Although my old mother opposed raising a cat from the beginning, facing the danger of a small life, my kind old mother could not bear it and chose to spend money to save life.

At five o’clock in the evening on February 10, I went to pick up Qibao from the hospital and did another blood routine. Qibao’s white blood cell count had risen to 3.67. Although it has not returned to normal, the doctor said that Qibao recovered unexpectedly quickly. As long as he was taken home and taken good care of, and took medicine on time, he would basically be cured! The total cost of medicine + blood routine was 735.

When I got home that night, my old mother cared for Qibao and even filled him with a hot water bottle and wrapped him with cloth to warm his stomach. I didn’t turn off the lights all night, and woke up several times that night to observe Qibao’s condition. Fortunately, nothing happened all night.

On February 11, the fourth day of Qibao’s illness, his mental state was still very poor. He refused to eat and could only be force-fed. He still had diarrhea and went to the toilet frequently.

On February 12, Qibao began to eat on his own!!!

On February 13, Qibao began to have the strength to lick his fur and turn over his belly! And he continued to eat! The feces also began to take shape. On

February 14, his mental state was basically restored!

On February 15, after a week, he was completely cured! But he lost several pounds and was so thin

that he looked

unrecognizable. Fortunately, I didn’t give up! When Qibao was sick, I was thinking that if Qibao unfortunately went to the cat planet, I would never have a second pet in this life. I don’t want to experience this kind of life and death pain again. It’s too painful.
