Daily life of my tabby cat Xiaodai

At the end of May 2023, we found that Daidai was sick. We went to see a doctor in many ways. After a week of treatment by a quack doctor, it almost died. Finally, we found the right hospital and was hospitalized for a month. It was on the verge of life and death several times. But Daidai had a strong will to survive. We tried hard to save it and finally saved its life.

In the picture above, because of the infusion needle and examination, the hair on the belly, neck, back and limbs was shaved, and a gastric tube was inserted in the first two weeks.

It was very hard to be hospitalized for a month. I lived in a small cage. Next door were cats and dogs. The big dog downstairs was very annoyed by being locked up. Every day, its big tail banged on the wall of the cage. Xiaodai was scared and tired and couldn’t sleep well. After a month, I finally returned home with Xiaodai Patches. I just got home and fell asleep after a tour. I finally got home. In addition to eating, drinking, defecating and urinating, I slept for two days to make up for the sleep.

2023.12. His health is still very poor. The doctor said that the fur would grow back in three months, but it took half a year to grow back. If you look closely, there are still some differences. Winter is coming. Daidai has become the oldest in the family. In addition to his old and sick body, I enjoy the heating every day and feel relieved to see him sleep.

2024.7. It’s been one year since I survived the disaster. Before going to work at noon, I took another photo of Daidai in the old place, then went to work, and then went home to feed Daidai in the evening.

2015.11. My boyfriend at that time saw a kitten from time to time in the dark boiler room of the unit. It was not lively at all, it was staggering, it was old and frail, and there was no mother cat.

I was always talking about raising a cat. One day after work, he happened to see a cat, walking slowly in the boiler room. He picked up the cat and put it in the car, and hurried home. He called me on the way and asked me to prepare to welcome the cat. Wow! Wow! Wow!

After returning home, the kitten, who was less than two months old, was listless and dull, with bugs all over its body. You can see it with the naked eye. There are so many fleas that are as big and as black as a cat running around in its sparse fur. It’s so scary.

I took it to the pet store for deworming, and the bugs fell off the cat’s body, leaving large patches of black flea corpses. After deworming, white bugs were visible in the feces. No wonder the cat was listless.

Then it started to have blood in its stool. The pet doctor said don’t treat it. It’s too young, weak and has many bugs. It may not survive.

But the cat survived tenaciously!

Because it was very dull at first, we called it Xiaodai. It is our favorite. In seven years, under our careful care, it grew from 8 liang to 17 jin. There

are tens of thousands of cats in the world, but Xiaodai is our favorite .

2016

A few months after coming to our home, it has an innocent and cute appearance, and its fur is clean. This is our little Dai.

The playful little guy is exploring the world.

Half a year after coming to our home, Xiaodai has grown a lot and lives a leisurely life. He has completely made this home his own home. He can sleep anywhere and look stylish.

2017 Dai has gained some weight.

2018 Xiaodai has liked sleeping on our bed since he was a child

. 2019 We moved. Xiaodai likes to watch the birds on the air conditioner cabinet outside the window. For this reason, we specially fixed a food box for the birds outside.

2020 We moved again. Winter is coming. For a while, Xiaodai liked to sleep in the massage chair, which was really a nuisance.

We moved three times, and we kept this antique shelf every time because Xiaodai would jump around, sleep, and lie down on it to look down at the whole family. The shoe cabinet is placed in front because the 17-pound Dai Dai is very strong when parkouring every day. Once, he kicked over the antique shelf. We are afraid that he will lose his life one day.

We take good care of Dai Dai. In addition to cat food, we will cook meat for him separately and buy a lot of canned cat food. Xiao Dai eats and eats every day. His appetite is always so good. He has grown to 17 pounds before we know it. We are very worried. Recently, we have been trying to help him lose weight. He has lost several pounds. It is really difficult to help Dai Dai lose weight. It is a test of our willpower.

In the small cabinet next to him are his cat food and jerky. Every day, you have to endure his pitiful or resentful eyes looking at you. When you eat, he will stare at you from the side, and his eyes seem to be condemning and questioning you–“I haven’t eaten anything yet, do you have the nerve to eat?!”
