The Story of Elvis (6)

After school started, it was hard to see a tabby cat again.

One day after school, my cousin told me that he had seen a dead cat in the bamboo forest. It

looked very much like my cat.

I hurried to see it.

In a bamboo forest by the ditch more than 100 meters behind the house, I

really saw my cat.

There was a wire hanging from its neck, its tongue was sticking out, and it was covered with green flies. Its eyes were slightly open, and those green flies were flying back and forth in its mouth.

I burst into tears. I cried

very sadly that time.

Later, someone said that

my cat was killed by a trap set by a relative.

I hated that relative for a long time after that. I

also stopped talking to his children.

At that time, the supervision was not strict. There were

many wild animals in the mountains where we lived.

Many people set traps.

I didn’t expect that my cat would be trapped.

After the big cat died, there was still a little tabby cat left.

Although this tabby cat had no mother since childhood, it was even more ferocious.

It is a male cat.

During that period, there was a lot of meat at home, such as pork liver and pork lung, which it could not finish.

So it grew very strong.

When it was about four months old,

this little tabby cat went out to fight with the cats in the village.

It started its own journey to become the King of Cats.

24

The fighting power of this little tabby cat is much stronger than its mother.

When it was very young, I saw it catching birds, and it was catching big magpies.

Magpies are very strong.

I remember that day, I came back from school, and we went to the fields to harvest peanuts.

After harvesting peanuts, there would be dirt and some insects on the peanut vines.

Many birds were attracted to peck at them.

There were magpies, sparrows and turtledoves.

The magpie was particularly big, and it seemed to be running towards the sparrows, trying to prey on them. Little

did they know that the magpie was catching the bird, and the tabby cat was behind it.

25

The little tabby cat is more like a hunter than its mother.

It crawled, twisted its body, moved its tail around, and then stared at the magpie with its eyes.

The big magpie was indeed very fat.

Actually, magpies are mean and mean birds, and they will bully other small birds.

So I didn’t call.

I saw the little tabby cat lying on the ground, moving a few times, and approaching step by step.

It was like a special forces soldier.

No, it was even better than a special forces soldier.

Because when it jumped up to catch it, it actually jumped up to more than half a meter high. Although it didn’t catch it, it really shocked me. It was

the first time I saw a cat jumping so high.

26

This time I failed to catch the big magpie.

But the little tabby cat didn’t have any effect on it. It was eager to try and was also very motivated to other birds.

This little tabby cat also grew up very fast. When it was about two months old, it started to catch mice.

I saw it catch a big mouse as long as a chopstick. The mouse that stole food had a round belly and was held by its neck. The big mouse was too long and was dragged on the ground.

Unfortunately, this tabby cat likes to catch mice but not to eat them.

It often throws mice outside the door.

Ga Gong said that I had taken care of this cat and it had become picky.

After that, I stopped feeding it. I

only gave it a snack occasionally.

According to my observation, this little tabby cat is a male cat because it is so strong in fighting.

I saw it fighting with another big cat with my own eyes.

That cat was twice as big as it.

27

But the little tabby cat was not afraid at all.

It looked like a little tiger, howling, then pouncing on it and biting it swiftly.

Later, this little tabby cat rarely came home.

I often heard it fighting with other big cats at night. The fights were exaggerated, with all kinds of hissing.

Once on the 15th day of August, I went out to watch the moon at night.

I found that the cat, like Elvis, was squatting by the wall.

Five or six cats were around, lying or walking, and they seemed to be very flattering to it.

After that, I often saw the injured little tabby cat.

Unfortunately, after graduating from the sixth grade, I went to study in the town.

After that, when I came back, the little tabby cat was gone.

Maybe, like its mother, it was caught in a trap, maybe it was drugged, or maybe it was seriously injured in a fight…

But in the twenty years since then,

I have never seen such a smart and fighting cat.
