Yes, as long as you dare to hit them, cats can really be beaten into submission.

I worked in a cat cafe before, and my daily work was to clean, wash cups and plates, make drinks and serve drinks and desserts to customers.

Because I really like cats, I went to the cat cafe when I was looking for a part-time job during the summer vacation. It is in the center of Chengdu. Although the salary for part-time jobs is not very high, I think it doesn’t matter if the salary is a little low because there are cats there.

The store is very pampering and protective of cats, and various protection measures are particularly in place. Cats are greedy and will steal desserts, so the store bought a glass cover to block them. Children under 7 years old are not allowed to enter, and various warnings are given before entering. Before a customer accidentally stepped on the cat’s tail, the cat howled very sharply on the spot. The store manager and the staff immediately stopped the customer and told him to be careful and not to hurt the cat (I don’t know if there was a fine). But one thing is certain: the cat whose tail was stepped on never hurt anyone because of stress reaction.

But! Yes! Which cat dares to scratch or bite people for no reason? The store manager will deal with the cat. Previously, there was a cat that frequently scratched customers. The next morning, when the deputy store manager was cleaning, it also scratched the customer. Then the store manager held it down and slapped it several times (very loudly), and then locked it in a cat cage for a whole day and was not allowed to come out (the cat seemed to cost 7,000 or 8,000 yuan, and the money the store paid to customers was almost as much as the money for the cat). From then on, the cat ran away when it saw the store manager.

Later, when I was bitten by a bad-tempered cat (it almost bit me, but the teeth just scraped my skin and left a red mark, but the skin was not broken), I was so scared that I patted its butt twice with my backhand, not too hard or too lightly, so that the cat’s body shook slightly, but it didn’t cry. And I told the cat not to do that, because if it bites a customer, the manager will not punish it by patting it twice and then letting it go. After that, I coaxed it for a while and went back to the bar (there was still some time before the business hours after cleaning in the morning, otherwise there would be no time to coax it).

The cat was very well-behaved when I coaxed it again, squinting its eyes and letting people touch it, it was really cute.

(It was really caught off guard. The last second it was still comfortably enjoying my stroking its fur and squinting its eyes. I have checked the meaning of cats wagging their tails. It didn’t mean it was impatient, it just wanted to bite)

Then I went back to wash my hands, after all, it had to ensure hygiene, but the red mark remained for a while. When I finished making the drinks and put the cups on the tray, the deputy manager saw the red mark on my hand. He asked me if I was bitten by a cat, and I said yes, and then he asked me to point out which one it was. I said I patted it twice and he didn’t ask.
