As a novice cat owner, I also beat the kitten at the beginning

As a novice cat owner, I also beat the kitten at the beginning. I think there are better ways to tame cats than beating them.

This is the first kitten I have at home. As a novice cat owner, I also beat the kitten at the beginning. Because the kitten was very naughty when it was young, it bit and scratched people without distinguishing the severity, and it also went on the dining table and the coffee table. At that time, I didn’t know how to discipline it, so I could only be helpless and furious. I couldn’t bear to use heavy hands when fighting with the kitten, and often added new injuries to my old hands.

Later, I don’t know how I suddenly got it, and learned a new method that worked very well. Since I learned this method, my kitten has become more and more obedient. It no longer dares to show its teeth and stretch its claws at me.

That is suppression, controlling the action.

1. First find the right opportunity to grab the back of the kitten’s neck to make it unable to move, and then press it to the ground with its abdomen facing down.

2. Change the gestures, suppress it from behind to make it unable to move. If one hand doesn’t work, you can use two hands, one hand to hold the body and the other hand to hold the head. Be careful to use less force, and never press too hard to make it breathless. Just restrict it so that it cannot move or resist.

3. Then the kitten will feel uncomfortable. You may face it fiercely resisting or roaring. Ignore it and just keep this position (make sure the kitten breathes smoothly and its limbs are placed correctly).

4. Until the kitten stops resisting and starts to whimper or keep silent, slowly release your hand, observe the cat’s next reaction, and be prepared to suppress it again.

5. If the cat attacks you or insults you again as soon as you release your hand, repeat the above actions quickly again until the kitten calms down.

6. If you feel that this is not enough, or the kitten continues to resist, you can add the action of panting and baring teeth in the process.

7. It is normal for a kitten to have airplane ears when being suppressed.

8. After being suppressed by you, the kitten will definitely be afraid of you. After releasing it, it will run away and hide. This is also normal. You can let it go and wait for it to recover by itself, or give it some snacks to comfort it and build a good relationship with it.

9. The next time the kitten wants to attack you, repeat the above process. After many times, it will know that you are stronger than it and have a higher status than it. It cannot resist you. At the same time, it will observe your preferences and will slowly stop doing things you don’t let it do.

Cats are just animals. As long as they are animals, they have a sense of hierarchy. You just need to let the kitten know that you have a higher status than it.

My kitten now only dares to sleep at the foot of the bed, leaving the big place to me. He dares not get on my pillow or the dining table or coffee table. I catch the big ones and let the small ones go. I let him do whatever he wants. He plays parkour at home every day and sometimes snores on my belly. Usually,

when I touch him or hug him, he will only protest with a small meow and dare not resist me. But if I feel that he is a little impatient, I will not force him. In short, the cat and the person are very harmonious.
