I also have both a cat and a dog .
The middle-aged woman who doesn’t eat coriander
met my Duofu by chance. After living apart from my parents, I felt lonely, so I decided to get a dog. A friend of a friend picked up a golden retriever, but the dog at home couldn’t accommodate her, so she was looking for adoption, so we met. She was a little over one year old at that time. At first, I planned to call her Christmas because I took her home on December 24, but it was a bit tongue-twisting. I named her Duofu. The English name twelve means twelve, which means the twelfth child in my family. This ranking was inherited from my grandma’s house, haha.
Duofu is a cross between a golden retriever and a Labrador. It is lighter in color than ordinary golden retrievers and has softer and less hair. When she first came, she weighed less than 40 kilograms. The day I took her home, the guy who took her to the bath said that she was too thin and timid, and the sound of the hair dryer scared her to death.
This is about 42-43 kg. There is no place to run around in the city. I take her to the suburbs to run on weekends.
She is really well-behaved. She never urinates or defecates at home. I take her out for a walk for about half an hour every morning and evening. But if I scold her or squat down to touch her or talk to her when I just come back, she will pee immediately. She eats whatever dog food is given to her, including steamed buns. She will not refuse to eat other things just because she has eaten meat. When I eat, she will sit next to me and look at me, waiting for me to feed her. But if I don’t feed her for a long time, she will walk away to eat her own dog food.

This is how she looks when she is waiting for me to feed her, with a smile on her face and a
very good temper. She doesn’t guard her food, and it’s okay to take it out of her mouth when she is halfway through eating. When she bites the food I hand over, she will bite me carefully.
At first, she only recognized me and was a little resistant to other people. She would whimper a few times when they approached her. After a few days, she let herself go. Her sleeping posture shows everything
. She will get jealous. My friend’s Teddy was left at my house for a few days before. My dog was about to collapse. She always paid attention to Teddy’s movements. If she got a little closer to me, she would rush over to block her. Teddy was not allowed to walk near her food bowl, but she always ran to eat other people’s food. Until Teddy took it away, she bit everything I had put on the coffee table in revenge.
She can’t do anything except shaking hands and sitting down. She doesn’t like to play with toys. If I throw the ball to her, she won’t give it to me and let me throw it. If I snatch it from her mouth, she will walk away and not want it. She has no interest in other dogs outside. She ignores people who call her, and she won’t play with them even if they rub against her and play with her. She is afraid of children. If a child touches her, her whole body is stiff and motionless. If a child comes to play at home, she will hide far away.
My friends around me say that it is a blessing for Duofu to find me as her master. In fact, it was Duofu who saved me. I am very grateful for her appearance. Before she came, I was overwhelmed by many things in life and work. I often cried at night, and I couldn’t get excited about anything. I had no interest in anything. I felt that I was about to become depressed. After meeting Duofu, I no longer had time to be unhappy. When he saw me sitting on the sofa, he would come over and use his mouth to nudge my hand for me to scratch him, or grin at me, or squeeze hard beside me. Occasionally, when I was in a bad mood, I would hug her and bury my face in her thick fur, and I would be cured instantly.
I know that a dog’s life is very short. I hope that she can be happy, healthy and safe in these short ten years.
