I went to see baby Rita this morning. Due to the heavy traffic on Lushun South Road, I arrived nearly an hour later than the actual time.
It seemed that I was almost there, but it took me another half an hour
to find the guest house where Rita’s users were staying according to the navigation. I happened to meet the trainer who was responsible for joint training at the door. He enthusiastically took me to Rita and the user’s room.
I just took care of Rita’s new father, and Rita recognized my voice and rushed over! How to say it, it was the kind of uncontrollable rush. Then she twisted hard, wagged her tail, picked up the toys and gifts on the ground and twisted.
The photography teacher who followed Rita’s growth came later, and I suggested that we go outside to breathe some fresh air and see how baby Rita led the blind. As expected, with me there, she was full of eyes for me and seemed to have forgotten the existence of the new father. In order to reduce the impact on the interview, I hid in the house and did not go out. Later, the photography teacher said that Rita was completely absent-minded! She looked around to find me! I
was busy hugging Rita and communicating with Rita’s new father, and I didn’t take any photos or videos. Fortunately, the photographer will give me a video later. When I was about to leave, I remembered it and took a careless photo.
When Rita saw me carrying my bag, she knew I was leaving, and she asked for a hug again. Oh! I tried not to write so sadly! I comforted her and told her to take her new father for a good walk! They should all be healthy and safe! Later, she may understand what I mean, sitting in front of the new father, tilting her head to look at me. After thinking about it, she tilted her head and looked at me again. Just like when we were little.
Rita’s new father is very good, and he kept saying thank you to me, thanking us for raising excellent dogs and helping them start a different life. After sending you thousands of miles, you must say goodbye. I closed the door hard and got in the car.
Although I didn’t cry throughout the whole process, I cried so hard last night. In the afternoon, I returned to the studio and ate while eating, and suddenly cried again. Maybe it’s like missing a daughter who married far away! Hey!
Back to the studio, Rita’s new father sent a message saying that Rita had shed a lot of tears and just calmed down, curled up on her little mat. Hey, baby Rita, don’t cry! Mommy will come to see you. I don’t know what
she said in a wronged manner. Anyway, the travel route for next year has been decided. I must go to Zhoushan, Zhejiang! The compassionate Guanyin Bodhisattva is there! She will bless Rita and her new father with all peace.
They will fly back home tomorrow. I hope baby Rita can adapt to the new life as soon as possible, guide the new father well, and be happy and healthy every day.
Update on August 21st
Just now, the staff of the guide dog base called and said that Rita has passed the assessment of cooperation with the user and will leave for home in the next few days. They asked me when I can go to see her.
On Sunday, which is the day after tomorrow, I will go to see baby Rita.
Then we will have to wait for a year for the next meeting.
After that, Rita will serve for more than five years, or even seven or eight years, and then retire according to her physical health.
After retirement, I can take her back. But users are often willing to provide for the dog’s retirement, but they need my permission.
I don’t want to go that far. I will go to see baby Rita the day after tomorrow❤️I
am happy and sad.

I haven’t seen Rita for more than half a year due to the epidemic. Today, the base organized a social gathering, and the foster family gathered in a park in Lushun.
I set out to the base to pick up Rita in the morning. Of course, she still recognized me after not seeing her for half a year!

Because of the epidemic, everyone was waiting at the door, well, just like picking up kindergarten children! Standing at the door, I felt very emotional and almost cried. But Rita’s jumping and jumping happily infected me, and my heart was full of joy.
In fact, I suddenly received a message from the trainer last night, saying that Rita was selected for this period of matching training because she was more outstanding, that is, the blind man on the 20th will come to meet her and run-in. Because I had always thought that the dogs that delayed matching training during the epidemic would only come to Rita after serving, this sudden news made me a little confused.
When I was playing in the park, my eyes were sometimes wet, but fortunately I didn’t cry. After the social gathering, I needed to send the dog back. On the way, I touched her head and she tried to put her head on the car seat. From picking her up at 9 o’clock in the morning until sending her back at 2:30, she never lay down to rest, but just ran around with me. Sometimes she went to play with other people, but she would come back as soon as I called her.
When I arrived at the gate of the base, I started crying. Mr. Zhang comforted me and said: Look, Rita has grown up and is obedient. It’s a good thing that she went to work. Oh my God, what kind of comforting words are these? I kept crying, and he kept hugging me to comfort me.
The staff came out, handed Rita over, and lay on the gate and watched silently. Rita’s leash fell off, and she ran over to look at us through the door. I kept crying outside the door.
I was still crying in the car on the way home.
Rita’s prospective user is in Zhoushan, Zhejiang. It’s a pretty good city when I think about it. I wish her the best!
After the matching training is over in about a month, I will meet with the user and say goodbye to Rita.
